Since all Samsung devices are Make in India stuff, why are the prices so high in India. Also Make in India is a big export initiative how will such pricy devises compete in exports where the prices are 20% off Indian prices.

They should be pricing it lower here but the thing is price point that they are going for puts them within striking distance of what Apple will charge for their flagship.

<<Insert "It is only considered a flagship if it has a flagship price tag argument" >>

With rumors pegging the Apple iPhone 8 at close to 1000$ (This could even translate to 80K INR or more for the base model), they cannot afford to be called the cheaper flagship make, right ?

Make in India is to benefit these so called big companies only consumers in India always suffer from high price and no remorse

Moreover made in India is actually assembled in India since all components are imported and assembled in India

Had a hands on with the device in Changi airport where I was transiting.

1. Hot damn. It feels huge in the hand(That's what she said ?) .
2. The s-pen is neat. Very responsive. Impressed.
3. The camera interface although elaborate seems to be a bit clunky and the the live focus is really aggressive. The potential is definitely there. Besides, the demo units might not be running the final retail version of the software.
4. Battery definitely a concern.
5. And the big one, the fingerprint scanner requires some unwanted hand gymnastics. Pretty sure, people will get used to it but it is by no means a simple one-handed device.

And the kicker ? The price at the Singapore airport is 61.5K (Amazon India is gonna sell it for 75k on launch day)

Waiting for Apple's event now...

Cool, was the Singapore model a dual sim ?

Also did u head any Singapore launch date there ?

How prudent is to bring the Note8 from Dubai for 60k with a 10k free AKG speakers bundled in. Do we need to once activate the device with the Dubai sim for it to work in India?

with all the news flowing in the Note8 Indian price looks to be marked up around 75K. A difference of 15K is huge with only consideration would be warranty for screen replacement which comes almost free with the Indian device.

am more gravitated towards the Orchid Grey colour which won't be available in India. Also keeping an eye on the Indian eBay seller Shabir from Chennai who has a very reputable name & his prices are very good.

So how many planning to buy the Note8 from India and abroad?

The Singapore launch date for pre-ordered phones is Sep 9. Regular launch date is Sep 15.

And yes, the Singapore phone is a dual sim exynos variant.

No full reviews of Note8 yet? Looking specifically for reviews on battery life.

Would be buying an Indian Note. Singapore or Dubai could be cheaper by 15K or so, but then why risk warranty?

Any comments from Samsung India on the pricing and availability?
Pre-orders will open soon exclusive to Amazon India.

Estimated price: 74,999 INR.

Delivery date: Late September or Early October(More likely)

Honestly, I have used phones purchased from abroad before. And I have never faced problems with the actual device. Dropping the phone and stuff like that will definitely be an issue though. But if its any consolation, Singapore will have the same config and specs as India. So you might be charged for the service but you should be able to get it fixed if there is a problem.

Secondly, the price differences will be as follows.

In India, Phone price: 74,999.
Case, Screen guard: 1,000 to 1,500 more. Close to 2,000 more if you go in for reputed brands.

Singapore price (if you get it at the airport): 61,700 INR
Case: ( The whole host of official Samsung accessories for the Note8 will be discounted by 20% for the whole of September if you buy the phone there): Which means you can even snag that amazing Alcantara case for 2100 INR ( If you have felt Alcantara before , you would know why this is a big deal).
Forex charges( after cashback points and all adjustments: <1000 INR)

Almost zero participation here. Most of Indians seem to have already decided to kick Note8 or maybe having pricing or other issues .

Would be probably buying one, but looking for some forum with active discussions.

Not really note fan will still buy it like me

It's just that Samsung India is always lazy with release dates so ppl get fedup

absolutely Samsung attitude towards Indian market is completely Bull**** when it comes to pricing & offering a value deal like other global markets. I am also buying one for sure but will probably go the Dubai route this time.

Note has huge fans. But with the Note 7 debacle, a lot of yearly upgraders went for the s8+ which is a magnificent phone. And now with almost no updates and such insane pricing, its natural most people aren't interested.

I didn't buy a Samsung when Note 7 busted, instead bought a One Plus 3 & went back to my Note 5 & using it along with One plus 3 and upgrading to Note 8 should give a good feel.

I would be probably ordering the new Note as soon as ordering opens up in India. Have already ordered a few screen protectors and cases on aliexpress.com.

Any news of India launch and pricing. Rumors of 75K pricing and bookings opening on 11th September with deliveries starting from 1st week of October are in ample, but nothing from Samsung India.
Don't expect to anything from Samsung India every year it's same natak...they think they are king and ppl will stand in line with money to just give them

Bunch of assholes

2) By September 11, USA, UK, all world except India, will get their Notes.
3) September 12 new iPhone is announced.
4) September 12 all Indian Note 8 hype shifts to iPhone.
5) By October when Note 8 comes to India, only couple of idiots like me will end up buying.

Haha u r right buddy..but we are not idiots..note 8 still will be best am sure

I felt 4gb ram was making s8 plus sluggish, 6gb will help a lot along with dual camera with great review so far and of course great a pen all adds up to great package

And iPhone 8 will be priced even higher for sure

To be honest I tried a lot with iPhone 7 plus in apple store but too much lacking in software than Android still they are long back

Fruit is not for me still

Forget everything.

Just find 5 "high end phone purchasers" and show them photo of Note 8 saying this is new iPhone. 4 will believe and place order.

Amazing India and that's why companies take us for granted.
