I dont care about what features iPhone brings or doesnt bring. I've been in the Apple ecosystem since 14 years, all my music, movies and mainly audiobooks are with apple, so i can never leave. Plus the Apple watch is my primary fitness device. So its always going to be my personal phone.
But the note since 2 years is my primary work/productivity device, so as long as Samsung keeps improving Note I have no complaints.

This is what has been my expectation. S8 also wasnt badly priced so Im expecting this. As long as around 70, Deepsea blue and september availability I'm happy. Though Samsung will disappoint on atleast 2 out of 3.

Well at 70k I can hold off my Dubai purchase, glad to pay 10k for the warranty. My 8 month old S7edge had to go to service center for hardware issues under warranty so a bit apprehensive about an imported device. I also have the feeling that Sammy would price it below 70k in India as they are already facing a lot of flak for the pricing in US & Europe. The Dubai deal makes it sweet because of free Akg Bluetooth speakers & Wierless charges, almost 14k there on a 60k deal.

Gold I hate and Black is v boring (s8 experience). So if not Blue atleast Grey or I'll import for sure.

Dubai for me was done when I realised even they dont have Blue.
F**ktards at Samsung have brains in their b**ls. Only Korea gets blue.
This much also they don't learn from Apple that you can sell phones on colour choice alone (Gold, Pink, Red etc Hype)

Spoke to Samsung Smart Plaza, Udiapur. As per the them, Note8 online bookings would open on 11th and should be available in Stores by 24th September. 64 GB version would be launching first with price close to 70K. 128 GB version would follow in 2-3 weeks (in black color only, pricing is not known yet). Wireless charger is the only freebie being offered for India.

Not sure on the above. Has anyone spoken to any known Samsung guys ? Any information to share.

Yeah their V30 OLED display is stunning too bad note 8 and iPhone 8 will fade it away unless it's price is dropped crazy like V20

Btw Amazon India is now listing note 8...register for notification is on

Desperately waiting for Note8 and would have to wait & not import it, since want to buy from India for any warranty issues later.

I am currently in Udaipur from last 15 days or so for selling some ancestral property & have inquired here. As per them, official launch is 11th and 24/25th, Note8 would be available off the counters.

Flipkart is useless. Had bought a Lenovo A12 Tablet with Halo keyboard for my kid from them last month . It was faulty, they sent me a replacement, it was having issues again. They refused to take it back. Took up the issue with Lenovo and after 100's of heated mail exchanges, Flipkart collected the faulty tablet yesterday and i would be getting my refund soon.

Yeah flipkart are typical desi minded store unlike world class Amazon services

Samsung did best this time to choose amazon since they went with Flipkart for s8

well if the pre orders start from 11th-12th, then they will be having their usual crap launch event in Delhi on the same morning & invitations will have to go out to tech bloggers a week before, so the mist over the Note8 launch should clear by next week.

at 70K Indian pricing, i am also now more inclined to buy it locally with the warranty & screen replacement deal(peace of mind for sure), the only downside will have to go with the stealthy black which looks nice, though the deep sea blue would have been great.

The great news could be the 128GB version also launching along with 64 GB one in India.

11th Launch is almost confirmed, as per info., many Dealers in many places are accepting pre-bookings with delivery scheduled for 24th/25th of this month.

Don't think 128gb variant will launch now...and also actual availability maybe Oct start as per Samsung India lazy attitude seen earlier

In US phone got shipped this week itself some got it delivered also

If any members have any contacts with Samsung Dealers in any of the Metros, please check and confirm.

The news article also speaks of 128 Gb version launching along with the 64 GB version & i have similar news from Samsung Plaza in Udaipur. In fact, the Manger called me up 5 minutes back saying that one can pre-book any of the versions by depositing anything above 2K. The hotel I am staying in Udiapur is near to this Plaza and the Manager drops in to have a drink in the evening in the bar, so now he is somewhat known to me.

I can understand ur anxiousness bcoz u had to carry note 5 for so long

I was in same situation last year but now have s8 plus so will wait peaceful this time ... Still excitement goes on for new note always

And yeah 128gb is what should be available here specially for ppl like us who use dual sims

Would love to have the 128 GB version launch along with the 64 GB one, would order 128GB if it launches in maybe Black or Gold. Gold combination with black is also not looking bad. Blue off-course is hot, but will not be an option in India.

Blue is really hot this time but it's not available even in US

In between gold and black I will go for black as it looks stealth sexy on my s8 plus
