The oonly positive on this is better battery life and less heating up, the GPU is much lower powered though :(

It's definitely I9100G.

You can see on the page: GT-I9100LKGDBT
This letter is A for I9100, G for I9100G.

But yeah, as armanderli said, they have already started selling I9100G in France (since January). It's becoming harder and harder to find an I9100.
I guess they're only shipping I9100G to Europe now.

People who plan to buy this ****ty G variant will feel 57up!d! Slower GPU for the same price as for non G. Don't be fooled by Samsung. They never tells us clearly that they had released the SGS2 v2 aka GT-i9100G.

I myself got this G and frankly speaking I hate it just because I don't have more custom rom to try with ....

I guess it's more of a techno commercial aspect to the company's decision. When the G device shares the same platform of galaxy nexus its very easy for them to unify the product line. Also about the custom rom, I feel ICS will get much faster ported to G version because of platform and the custom development will kick in rapidly.

I got my I9100G through internet shopping and I didn't know there is different versions for I9100 until I fired up the phone and start. Cause not that much data about G versions from Samsung around. Also box is the same. Just a little "G" placed back and bottom of the box. I can clearly say its not that much difference about performance or other things. Gpu is 300 mhz its right but SGX540 is a lot compatible with games than mali400. Cpu 1.2 dual same OMAP but its working 1008 mhz which is perfectly goes up 1200 mhz with oc. My official 2.3.6 rom's quadrant score around 3200. Its not heating and battery performance is very good. Of course official ICS is on the way. There everywhere is "G" version now and custom roms & kernels & mods will come day by day. I'm happy with my phone.

Yes when Galaxy SIII is out next month all developers will dedicate their time to the Galaxy SII (i9100g).
