I bought a Tab dock directly from Samsung after getting some discount spam for registering my TAB. It came out to $59.xx US (shipped from TN to VA in 3 days).
Decent price, I am pleased with build, and in general its a nice product. Was slightly concerned about the orientation of the 'arm' and how I'd position it; but I bought it anyway.
I have a mini cooper clubman s....
I am switching to a Tab from a N1. And I had a good 6" 'bendie' car dock for my N1 that worked well. I stuck the suction right in the middle of the speedo cluster and it 'snugs' in nicely and doesn't cover up too much of instrument cluster.
It is actually tricky to find a good place for the Tab mount in a clubman due to the angle of the arm.
I took a hard look at both docks and had the inspiration: swap the ball mounts on the 2 arms and use the "6" inch bending arm with the ball and dock tray apparatus from the Tab Dock.
Works well! Now the tab visually obstructs much more of the speedo cluster (when positioned in same location) than the N1 -- but I don't look a the speedo cluster much anyway
.
The size of the suction cups on both docks are about the same if not exactly the same. I am thinking that suction on the "6" bendie arm is up to the task of handling the additional weight of the TAB; I will know more after a few days of driving...
Maybe this idea will help someone who wants a good TAB mount be finds the arm of the SAMSUNG dock a bit awkward.
To get this to work in your situation, you may need to separate the tray from the ball mount bracket Turn over that bracket (the one that you slide the tab tray into) and notice there is 4 recessed snap tabs, that will allow access to the 'inside' of this bracket. I used a small screw driver to manipulate the tabs so that its cover popped out. Once in side, you can remove the standard ball joint anchor and replace it with the anchor that matches the arm you are grafting to. In my case everything was snap together and screw together. YMMV....

BTW: tab is working well for me....Need another month with it to see if it will totally replace the N1. (ATT with RotoJME + voice....)

I added the pix!
NOTE: two of the pictures have some red rectangles on them. These indicate the part that comes off (rectangular plate with tray mounting tabs) and the tabs that you can 'lever' or push with a small screw driver to release the plate. Have fun!
