One of the folks I referred is halfway thru a 2 year contract on his current phone. It's not feasible for him to continue paying off one phone and have to pay for another phone. Hopefully the program will allow folks in his situation to trade in the phone.
Side note... has anyone currently in the program ever pass on a survey but got another survey at a later time for another phone? I'm on the fence about doing this survey.
I think the repercussions of completing the survey and NOT going through with it is a whole lot worse than not doing the survey in the first place.

Hi, so I got a question about the insight program. This is my first time in the program and so I am wondering what will happen if we do not take the survey and apply and possibly buy the note 9? Will we ever get another samsung survey or not for any future phones? Will our name be taken off the list or something else?
You would have to be referred again by me or another person to get another survey..

Samsung.com has the note 9 at $924 if you have EPP or myunidays, does it seem likely that this price would be reflected if used with the $500 off code? So a total of $424?!

I filled out the survey and I had to sign something saying i could not get any other discounts or promotions with this code. Do you think the trade in could count as a promotion?

I think this is new territory for them. I'm betting they are going to have some really bad take rates on this unless the phone price gets into the sub $200's. I signed up and will wait and see how the code stacks with trade in of my grandpa edge 6+ and whatever else I can try piling on like ebates 3% or any credit card bonus offers.

Same thing happened for me with the S9 survey, I was still under the Insights Program. You won’t get selected since you are still in the Note 8 Insights. Instead add somebody else’s information that lives under your roof and submit it. You will have to run two phones at the same time for a couple weeks. It won’t be too awful bad.

Whoops make that six referred then! Only you and I received a survey, kinda odd?
All 3 of my referrals received the survey, and I received one to another of my email addresses I referred a while back lol. 2 of them decided not to bother since it's no longer free. Just myself and my mom are willing to pay for it. I've been with LG since the G4 and love their phones, but I'd love to see what Samsung has done with their Note line since my last Samsung device not thru Insights was the Note 3. I'm willing to do it, loving that purple one.

Same here. I have Samsung edu account and price is $924.99. and I am hoping that I can trade-in my iphone 5.
I can't believe they will give $150 for it.
By the way, it's 50% off code, not $500 off.

Any chance Samsung is "bluffing"? Like maybe to weed people out or find people who are more "committed?" I know it seems unlikely given the survey we got a month or so ago, but just a thought.

If I were to do the survey and get picked, can I get the unlocked version and still be able to use it on Sprint? I bought an unlocked Note 8 at Best Buy and they were able to activate it at Sprint once I got a new SIM card. Is it the same deal on Samsung's site?

so is anyone filling the survey ?
Still undecided. I stopped by Verizon to get hands on with the Note 9 and although I love a Note phone, I must admit that I didn't feel like I had to have it. I love my Note 8..And it was free! $500 and a year of monitoring may be a little too much for me this go around.

Here's a reply back to Samsung insights I sent from one of the emails I got a survey on.

If 50% off is the best that you can do to participate in this program then I'll have to pass. I feel that the information provided by us users is far more valuable & to be tied to 1 carrier for 12 months accepting every update that comes down the line that eventually kills the phones battery life & performance so we feel the desire to upgrade isn't worth it. Apple has already admitted that their updates lessens the battery life & performance on older models so I know you guys do it also. Thanks, its been a good run but I'll put my old rooted s5 on prepaid & be happy.
