samsung note 8, touchscreen unresponsive but works in twrp? is there a way i can get it to work in system?

i got gifted a broken samsung note 8 and i wanted to see how much i could repair it to, and the only problem I'm left with is touchscreen not working

touchscreen doesn't work at all in the system, S-pen works fine, and i thought this is an issue with the LCD
but the touchscreen works when I'm in TWRP, so idk what is causing the touchscreen to be unresponsive in the system?
