No idea but if you are backed up or you don't care about having to set everything up again there is no big risk in trying it.

Thanks for the quick reply. I've just got a good deal on second hand one for my daughter and it comes with warranty so don't want to trip knox if it's not going to work just in case. But want root and to flash the sd card integration patch. Maybe I'll wait and see if ones released for T800 for a bit longer.

Not sure what you're waiting for here?
To flash the adoptable storage patch you need to install twrp.
Once you have installed twrp you can flash supersu.
This will give you root. You can then flash the adoptable storage patch.

Go to the twrp thread in the dev section for more info.
