Samsung pay +Root + Gear 3 working on latest update update 10/9/2017

Hey all,
@MrBrady managed to by pass samsung pay on with the latest update. Meaning, we can use the app for promotions etc..

Step 1. make sure you go to system> xbin then delete busybox.
Step2. go to magisk hide Samsung Pay
Step 3. profit???

Installed Osm0sis's Busybox, which installs as a Magisk Module
Installed HEBF Battery Optimizer
Safetynet still passes. Samsung Pay still passes.

I've been using Spay on my gear 3 forever now. worked on my s8 plus, pixel xl and Note 8

I can't get past step 1. Busybox won't delete for me. Just says delete failed. Also your link is dead, gives 404 error.

you need use es explorer and give system read and write permission
click on root explorer then you'd see the read and write setting
otherwise you won't be able to delete busybox

No its my main rom lol.
It should work for all roms
Did the same when I had my pixel xl and s8 plus

Completed all steps, build.prop has release keys and I pass safety net, but I'm getting a message that "Samsung is not supported in this device". I have N950F with Renovate ROM 2.0., and ATT CSS. Did I miss anything?

Eh, correct me if I'm wrong, but the companion S-Pay app on your Gear 3 wouldn't work if the main app on your phone doesn't work/ is not able to add a card.
I'm surprised you're able to use SPay while being rooted.

You're better off with GooglePay anyway if SamsungPay is your only concern as it should support more brands/ stores.
Read in the forums what you'll loose beside S-Pay when you root on a newer Samsung device, then you can surely figure out if you'd like to root or not

That's odd. According to @Didgeridoohan Magisk hides the internal busybox of Magisk.
Besides that, on my Note8 even with adding all SPay related things to MagiskHide (spay framework, knox-stuff, spay itself) it still fails me.

I'm not sure how you're passing it, but it doesn't make sense. Spay relies on knox (for security) and that reads the knox status/ efuse which obviously is blown to 0x1 once rooted on N950F/DS.

The version of Spay you have on your Pixel inside the Gear app (which should have the Spay ability, if I'm not mistaken) isn't bond to Knox, that's why it works for you;
The Gear S3, it's companion Gear app (not spay itself) and proper hiding with Magisk.

this whole tutorial is for gear 3 samsung pay, not samsung pay for the phone itself
in general, if you root your samsung phones, no root for you.

Dude.
I'd make the broad claim, people read the title /thread as "Spay working" because the Gear doesn't add value to it, IF you don't know about it's nitpick feature of Spay. It's slightly irritating.

No offense, but why post it in the Note8 section?
Have it moved to the appropriate Gear S3 general section (if available) and not the N8's forum.

Edit:
Look at the replies to the thread and their context. They're surrounded on using Spay with root.
In addition, your first post/ thread just states what to do to get Spay working. Jist the tidbit information at the bottom adds "with my Gear S3". Would be kind of you to add additional information that it only works if you own a Gear S3.

Hi, may i know the version you are using for below?

1. Gear S plugin
2. Samsung Gear
3. Payment framework
4. Magisk
5. Rom?
6. Kernel (permissive or enforcing?)

I have tried reinstalling samsung pay for gear v1.2 but it forces me to update upon launching, thus I can't proceed to add card.
