Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini Phone Problems...
AND WHY ON EARTH WOULD A BIG COMPANY LIKE SAMSUNG MAKE THIS EXTREMELY IRRITATING FEATURE THE DEFAULT ????? THEY SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER !!!!!
Every so called solution I've found uses the instructions for the regular S4 which don't seem to apply to this mini product, the "Sounds" does not have a notifications sub menu...
.......
PS I would think that everybody who has one of these Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini phones would be mad or frustrated about this. I've been having to turn my phone completely off at work or when in public because of this problem because turning the overall system sound completely off doesn't affect this at all. The manual that came with this phone has nothing about this at all either. But, I finally found it ! After hours of messing around...
In “Settings” you have to go to “Accounts” at the top and you have to select each application separately. In “e-mail” I had to go to “Account Settings”, open up the account (by pressing on it twice (there is no clue that doing that will open something else up but I got lucky and it did...), and scroll way down to “Email notifications” and uncheck the box there. So far it hasn't whistled at me again and it's been about an hour !

But now I have another problem with this phone ! I got it just before Christmas about a month ago now, before going on vacation, and after just a couple weeks the power button quit functioning and was stuck in the "in" position and the thing would not turn on. It was not abused or pressed too hard or dropped or anything, it just quit. But I happened to be traveling in the Philippines and found a repair place which charged me $12.00 and after that it worked again, but, only until now, less than 2 weeks later. Now, I am back in the states, in Minneapolis, and inquiring about getting it fixed and am being told that since the switch is on the motherboard it would require soldering and they won't do it because it requires special equipment. I took it apart to see for myself and aside from the small screws the board is attached by a few very small flex tapes that I didn't want to mess with either. So, I put it back together and it's just sitting here dead, with all my contacts and messages and whatever else is in the phone memory inaccessible in it and, I Need It To Work ! Actually I have two of these phones so I'm using the other one now and it's working OK but has none of my important personal info. I bought them both new in the box, unused, but, secondhand so there's no warranty. I naively thought it's a Samsung right ? It should be a good product...
Any ideas ?
