im almost sure that if you pull the battery, put it back with VOL+down then connect your bricked Defy to a PC, RSD Lite will see it as a flash platform. i´ve been there for a while, it seems dead but it still can access bootloader.

Did you flash the full stock sbf?

If yes, no downgrade or root or cwm.
if I put the full stock sbf, which tenndria to do, stay with this until it can root, you know 2.1 is well with superoneclic could do, or what happens is that when viewing the main page "SBF - not downgrade! + Rooted Nandroid backup ", I thought that first one and then installed one could install the other, but now not to do .....

First post should mention loud and clear a warning that everyone don't try this rom unless they really know what they do.

If not, there will be a lot people stuck on this rom without possibility to downgrade.

I sent the op a pm. I ask him to change his first post and write in big red letters a warning.

I have a few curious here.

1) Can this Gingerbread 2.3.4 be rooted exactly the way you guys do on the Gingerbread 2.3.3??

2) Since these two roms 2.3.3 and 2.3.4 having the same CG31 and CG39 which having version 5. Isn't that by making(cooking) a full flash sbf over rooted 2.3.3 and flash it to your stucked phone(2.3.4) would solved the issue?

1. yes, i did it. for root you must install nandroid backup from froyo or 4.5.1-85 gingerbread

2. 2.3.3 has version 4 for cg31 and cg39

So, this is the critical part we all must know before flashing.

Those has accidentally flashed the stock full 2.3.4 sbf will stucked forever(no root) unless someone break the code here.

This kind of warning that should mention in a red big letter at first post. Too bad OP doesn't quickly revised his post...
