Walter I love you and I want you to have my children. After too many weeks including a frustrating, annoying and utterly unhelpful trip to Motorola's repair agent and back, my bricked Defy+ is now working again!
I still can't root it, though. SuperOneClick won't do it, nor will any of the other rooting tools based on the zergrush exploit, or anything else I can find online. Looks like they definitely shut that door with the CG 7 version.
