Can I revert back to Eclair if I get any problems after flashing to froyo.

And just one last thing I want to know from those who have flashed to froyo, is there any significant improvement in anyways after upgrading to froyo? I'll appreciate a feedback of the pros and cons of it.

Just getting all info I could before flashing. :)

Two methods of flashing ::
1)if you full flash to froyo, then you cannot full flash to eclair...ie no you cannot go back to eclair directly but there is another way to go on eclair which is called Nandroid+FixedSBF...way..

2) if you Nandroid+fixedSBF to froyo, then you can Full flash to eclair ..ie yes you can downgrade.

Seems like nobody has uploaded the SBF for the recent SEA18 (Singapore) update, so here it is:

JRDNEM_U3_3.4.3-36-1.7_CHINESE_SIGN_SIGNED_UCAJRDNEMARAB1B80AA03A.0R_PDS03C_USAJRDNFRYORTINT_P012_A014_HWp3_Service1FF

Thanks very much bro...

I am currently on SEA15 latest which is for India etc. I use the phone both in India and Singapore about 50-50 so should I stay on that or switch to this, any comment?

Because I do find in singapore it only connects as "G" which is GPRS? I am not able to get 3G at all even in CBD..other times it is "E".

Not sure if this one makes a difference...

Check your APN settings. Apart from the MMS APNs, if there is more than one for mobile data available for your telco, you can try switching to the other one. For example, M1 has 'sunsurf' and 'miworld'. The 'miworld' APN is selected by default, and I have to delete it in order to make the phone use the 'sunsurf' APN and get 3G/HSDPA speeds.

Thanks...I am suspecting if it shows G in the display it means 3G? Because the other APN which is Gee DUN unable to select. The selected one is Gee 3G/GPRS which is also default. I am on Starhub

The G icon is GPRS/EDGE connectivity, which is slower than 3G. You should aim to get H (HSDPA) or 3G (slightly slower than HSDPA).

Thanks...I tried using those settings,it keeps going back to default...but I do get H sometimes not everywhere..

Added later...

How stupid of me, there was another setting inside the Mobile Network called 'Select Network' which was set to "2G only" for whatever reason perhaps I had done it or it was the default. I changed it to "Automatic Default" and now it shows "H"

thanks very much for feedback..

I got frustrated with the instability of official 2.2.2 and finally sold my defy. Surprised to see that my defy had terrible standby times even with this big battery. I almost lost 30% of charge in 7hrs of night, with wifi and mobile data off, no programs running in the background. Dont know why people say that defy has a good battery life. Guys whats ur experience wrt battery life on this froyo.

Er... nothing like yours. Battery life is very good indeed, and no "stability" issues whatsoever. All I've done is remove some useless apps via ADB. This has no effect on battery life or stability at all though. I suspect you have done something wrong while flashing, or have a rogue app. Or a dead battery.

Anyway, as you've sold you Defy now... battery life is irrelevant.

Unable to transfer files thru Bluetooth

After upgrading my Defy to the latest official version available in India, I am no longer able to send/receive files over bluetooth. Headset works fine though.

Any one else have noticed this issue or any solutions for this ?
