[SBF] OFFICIAL RE-RELEASE | Android Froyo 2.2.2 SOUTH EAST ASIA + INDIA [RE-RELEASE!]

My friend from Kuala Lumpur bought a Defy from UK last year on his trip there.
Is it possible he can update to 2.2.2 SEA official using the motorola update service here in Malaysia?
Or just flash the official SEA sbf file from page one will do?

Is the Motorola service update do checking/verify the IMEI from which country it shipped before proceed with the online upgrade?

it is not possible to upgrade ur frnds mobile through motorola software update bcos it verify imei number of the phone...the only way is to update the phone is flashing the sbf file through RSD lite or wait for the official update for defy UK.

just do it with what page one says..
you can use rsd lite to do that.
but just make sure you wipe data and cache before it, like instruction on page one.

mine was a uk set, running official 2.1 uk motoblur firmware

i did a service flash using sea 2.1 firmware then proceed with the motorola service update for the 2.2 upgrade.

i dont think it checks for imei number. else my update should have failed.

I'm having problem to gain root access when using Titanium Backup.
Does anyone facing the same problem?
For info, my defy already rooted and working fine when using root explorer.

wow, you have done deodexing?

you can make flashable zip for that..
can you use edify scripting instead of amend when creating that flashable zip?
so it can be used with someone who using latest bootmenu.

i flash this rom on my mobile
this rom is not for indian defy because it can't catch 2g signal of 900mhz operator
so waiting continue ....

to those who are still in eclair please post your APFlex or BPFlex # once updated. if there is a difference among your version and ours it seems there is still two ROMs in SEA, one for india and the rest for SEA (Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore etc)

i have somehow deodexed app folder of the posted sbf but cannot guarantee working unless i know how others are doing it for this phone and also updater-script is to made properly before signing the folder.
