I've noticed a weird oval shaped splotch that can sometimes form in the center of the screen. This seems to be caused by pressure applied to the front and/or back of the tablet causing the clear panel that we touch to stick to the screen underneath.

I noticed this a couple times after taking it out of my rolling bag. I have the slide cover and keep it in a neoprene case which is in turn inside of another neoprene case. I figured it was just a matter of me having too much stuff in the bag. Then I noticed it once after just having the tablet in my jacket pocket.

Putting it in front of a heat vent and applying slightly pressure on the sides will get the panels unstuck, but I'd rather not have to do that. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Are these tablets prone to this?

Best to treat tablets with kindness as most are stressed easily. My Google Nexus 7 2012 model used to have strange screen phenomena.

Never bend, nor drop, or push in the screen unless you really are intending to do what you do. Doing the heat thing may help you to bring into formity and parts that have moved or never put properly in manufacturing, but you also risk plastic stress and breakage..

Did you recently get your tablet? I remember reading a lot of people having this issue when their tablets were new, but after they had time to settle and for all of the bonding materials to fully dry and cure it went away. Of course any LCD will splotch the colors on a spot if you press too hard, though it tends to just happen for that moment and then go away... when I was a kid, I used to love mashing on the displays of calculators and watching the trippy results :p

It's been a couple weeks. You'd think everything would be settled by now. It's almost as if the digitizer is cut slightly to snuggly or something. I may buy a universal hard shell case or something.

I think we all loved poking calculator's displays.

I would definitely contact your manufacturer to see what they have to say about it. I forgot to ask, which one do you have? EVGA or another? It was on the EVGA forums that I noticed the complaints of the blotches on the screen... I don't know if the problem affected other manufacturers or not.

I have seen in iPhone repair kits a suction-cup thingy that they put on the screen and pull to remove it. By no means am I saying to remove your screen!!! Maybe maybe if you're desperate is to get a suction-plastic thing like found in bathroom wall hangers, and see if you can slightly pull out. If the tablet is warm then any gums or glues may shift a bit allows the screen to settle properly.

Whoa that sounds a little scary. I've just been careful. I removed some of the accessories from my soft case and I'm more cognizant of what direction the tablet faces when I put it in my pocket. I haven't had more issues. It's odds though, none of my other touch screen devices have this issue. Even my old 10in tablet and you'd think a larger screen would be more prone to flexing.
