Same here when comparing to my note 5 & s7e

I heard that they toned down the saturation to be more accurate. Waiting for Erica Griffins review

I'm no screen expert (old eyes!) but here's what I've noticed. On all my previous Galaxy phones, Basic and Photo modes were the least saturated and had a noticeably more yellow/warmer tone. Cinema was the most saturated and had the bluest/coolest tone. Adaptive was a bit less saturated than Cinema but still a much cooler/blue tone than Photo and Basic. On the Note 7, Adaptive has, by far, the coolest tone and Cinema is much warmer and closer to Photo and Basic. Also, none of the modes come lose to the intense saturation that previous Cinema modes had. It seems to me that this is a deliberate calibration and not a product of the display hardware because when I enable "video enhancer" under Advanced settings, I get a huge bump in saturation for youtube and Netflix. Still love the phone though!

Completely agree with you on that, it's what I've noticed so far

Is it me or what?? in comparison to my edge 7 and Note 5 this screen is washed out.
I agree.

Just got mine today and thought thr screen looked a little faded for lack of a better word.

Checked it against my S6 and note 4 on the same settings with the same images and the 7 is definitely the least pleasing of the 3.

I am very surprised at this

I haven't tested side by side with my Note 4 but as already mentioned, I have found that adaptive seems closer to what cinema was on Note 4. If I select cinema and raise brightness past halfway it becomes less warm and more saturated however. I feel like the lower settings make it look more washed out.

*edit.

Ok so I just tested some side by side comparisons. Definitely some major differences. Firstly, the biggest difference is that they've changed the sharpness settings on the Note 7. I always noticed that 'extra' sharpness was applied on the Note 4 and sometimes actually distracted from the image as was too much. The Note 7 is MUCH softer. On the photo's I looked at it was almost like I lost 30% of the detail.
The other major difference seems to be contrast. No matter what mode I chose I couldn't replicate the same contrast as the Note 4. Always seemed a little more washed out on the Note 7. I ran all modes at full brightness. Note 7 definitely didn't seem any brighter at all.

Borijess - So you believe your phone is now better since replacement? I'm wondering if yours was actually worse or if this difference is normal.

Yes it was worse. I was very disappointed with the first note 7. Now the screen is looking sharp and even. Now washed out colors. Using the basic setting in display settings.
