Well..i have been using the 6P for last 3 days but I am struggling with my SOT. I have location on, WiFi on (sometimes on LTE when I am out of home) very basic browsing, messaging and little bit of Gaming. But my SOT is only around ~2-2.5 hours (at best). I am on full stock as of now (bootloader unlocked after first boot tho). And my battery lasts about 14-15 hours only! Not sure where is all the battery drain due to.

Other settings - Google Now enabled; Location High Power; Display ~30% with Adaptive Brightness on..mostly indoors so never on full brightness; Bluetooth On with Android Wear (Moto 360 1st Gen)

Any suggestions? (My next steps would be to head towards Root and most likley elementalX kernel)

I honestly couldn't tell you. I flashed immediately lol. Doesn't seem that any battery improvements have been included though. Just an early release kernel that I mainly installed for tweaking colors

thanks for the responses

Regarding Google Now...do you have "Always On" enabled? It seems like that's been causing a significant standby time drain for some people. I haven't a need for it to always be on, so I left that disabled coming from my last phone.

I'm getting battery life on-par with that of my Note 4, at best, so far. Not super impressed, but my expectations may have been set a little too high... I've been getting 3:30 to 4:00 in the few days I've been using it. But for a couple of those days I did spend a majority of the work day streaming Spotify, and then I would be 3:30 at best.

Now I did notice one app reported as sucking quite a lot of battery, so I cut some of its permissions I didn't feel were necessary (location, contacts access, etc.). I'm hoping for better life going forward this week.

Always on for OK Google detection? Actually haven't set it up at all. Google now is enabled though with high location accuracy. Thinking of turning it off if battery life continues to struggle.

I suspect that in addition to the Google play services my LTE network search may also be a culprit. LTE is new in India and the network is at best pathetic. Yeah it's that bad. So that may be screwing the results as well.

I've gotten 4.5 hours SoT on three different occasions. Most of that use was on WiFi but at least two of those days had about an hour of active use on LTE and lots of standby with LTE connected. These days included several YouTube videos as well. Location is set to high accuracy and those uses include some music streaming over Bluetooth while driving. My best SoT was 5 hrs 50 minutes. That was all on WiFi. That day was mostly Google plus, reading articles, and browsing forums on the xda app.

Three nights in a row, I left it on overnight (Wi-Fi on, BT on, everything syncing) and drained 3% in 9 hours. That's impressive. I average 3-4 hours of screen on time per day with medium to heavy usage and easily make it all day. A few days ago, I did a "light usage test" and didn't use it for gaming (still had everything except GPS on and syncing) and I made it 2.5 days (59.5 hours) with 2.5 hours of screen on time. Battery is impressive on this thing. I am rooted stock and have no issues, except when gaming. Mine drains really fast and gets very, very, very hot when gaming for extended times, but when not gaming, it lasts crazy long.

I'm getting 5.5hrs consistently with the setup that is in my signature.
I'll try it out however it's probably how I use my phone.
The only phone that was able to give me 5-6 hrs SOT was the OPO on kitkat, I really miss that. even though I used to leave wifi, bt and gps on all the time.

I will never understand how people do stuff like this. I've consistently gotten about 2-2.3 hours SOT. I don't do much. In fact my phone probably spends a little too much time sitting. I have doze editor installed and it sleeps easy.

I just did a test. Charged the phone to 100%, set display brightness manually to about 75% and had a 4k video looping for exactly one hour and wifi off

Battery lost 11%. Phone was still cool to the touch giving me the impression that this is not really a CPU intensive task like browsing chrome, GPS navigation, sending texts or using the camera are as those all have a far more significant draw on power in my experience so far.

Got 6:40 hours yesterday with 16% battery left. No tweaks, everything ON (WiFi scanning, GPS, Bluetooth, Google Now, Google sync etc), connected to cellular but data via wifi

Right now have 4:45 hours and 35% left
Edit: and now at 6:15 with 15% left

I have NO idea how you people get SOT like this. In the few days I had the Nexus I got 3-3.5hours. I've never had a phone that got that kind of time. The most I ever got was from my OnePlus One was about 4 hours SOT.

I have auto brightness enabled and slider is around 30-40%, if you use LTE battery should be less

first full day with my 6P , mostly on LTE, and I got ~5hours screen time..... including 1 hour of Hearthstone.
Wow... my old N5 would be almost dead after only 1 hour of Hearthstone lol
