It's amazing how much we actually use our phones in a given day, especially when we watch "videos"! Rate this thread to express how many hours of screen-on time you can get on the Google Pixel before depleting the battery.

Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!

I will post later today after I fully charge. But I lost about 10% during initial setup and downloading apps. Less than 10 minutes SOT, hardly a fair reflection of endurance yet though.

So far:

Looks like about 5hrs is what it will trend down to. Which... Is OK.

First full day for me. It's about what I would expect to be honest. Everything is on except for drive backup and wifi, Bluetooth, nearby scanning.

The Pixel (non XL) hasn't been looking great for me. Here's my second and third days with the phone (i.e. the days after the one I spent installing everything and playing a lot with the
camera).

This is from yesterday, my first full day with the phone after getting it Thursday. About a half hour of a graphic heavy game, over an hour of YouTube, some Netflix casting. Navigation was on for maybe 20 minutes, Bluetooth was on all day, streaming gpm and podcasts. Screen brightness was 50% most of the day. Power saving mode was on from 15% until I plugged in at 4% and took these screenshots.

Jasestu,

I think your 2nd day results are pretty good. 3.5 hours of SOT and 22% battery left means you should be able to get at least 4.5 hours or more for a 2770 mah battery. That's in par with my S7.

OK, so it's probably a case of needed to recalibrate myself after the Z3 Compact - I get twitchy if the phone ever got as low as 35% by the end of a day....

Not gonna get too ahead of myself but it does appear that battery life is improving as the days go by and the OS settles. I'm hoping to consistently get 4+ hours SOT. That would be an improvement over my 6P (3–4 hours SOT since Nougat) and I'd be content with that.

Today is my first full day with the phone (basically all setup completed yesterday eve), and I'm currently at 4+hr SOT with 31% battery left. I spent about an hour (edit:*talking*) on the phone, listened to a bit if music, wandered around this AM taking photos, and spent a ton of time if Facebook and Reddit. This is WAY better than my 5x, which was struggling to hit 2.5 hrs on a full days' use. Things to consider: it's Saturday and I'm not getting work emails all day, but also I typically expect worse battery life early on as OS is settling in. So far, this is more than u was expecting and is a great early indicator. Even if I only get 4-5hr SOT long term, is still be quite happy with that. Trending for 5-6 is just stellar!

Hi there! I get around 3hrs sot on my google pixel 1...which is not so great, doesnt last the entire day...
I m running stock, android pie.
What do you think, does it worth downgrading to oreo/Nougat in order to obtain more SoT?
From your experience, what rom/android version/kernel gave you the best SoT? Thanks.

I get 5-6 hours with stock pie, rooted and exkernel installed.
Don't use NFC/Bluetooth/location/autosync and Facebook app and have Magisk Gms doze installed (it can allow system to optimize Google play services to reduce it's battery drain).
I would highly recommend to buy exkernel manager app, and disable "Perfd" (or any other kernel manager app if it has this option). Performance will decrease a bit, but it's almost unnoticeable, and it will be worth it.
    2
What settings on naptime and greenify ? Do you use aggressive doze for both ?

Naptime: Aggressive doze, disable motion, disable while charging "on"

Greenify: root mode, auto hibernation and alt screen off mode "on". Most apps are selected for hibernation.

Latest Q beta 5. Got this pixel non XL from ebay second hand for ~50$.

GREAT Battery life and i did not even tweak it. It's out of the box with dark theme enabled.
