6.5-7 h SOT on Oreo CRAP, no root. Initially was having not more than 3.5 h. Disabled AOD and some background services. Really amazed!

What background services did you disable?

Everything I could: enter Settings->Applications->(any App, including System)->enter Battery (option in Application page, along with Memory etc)->Unselect "Allow background usage" (or something like that). Just observe for at least a couple of full battery cycles.

I also use Package Disabler Pro. This is what I disabled:

Also, try to turn off "Allow background data..." under same Application window, Data Connection option.

S8 Oreo before factory reset 6hrs sleep time with flight mode on lost 12% average SOT 2-3HRS and couldn't last a day


After factory reset lost only 2% for 6hrs sleep time with flight mode on . And significant improvement in SOT but still waiting for the system to learn my pattern

Stock everything though i wish i could be able to install BK Package Disabler, currently on CRC7 update since Friday. If i got it to service and resoft it from scratch, would that improve the battery life?

What do you guys think?

Guys i had worse baterry on 8.0 ...but now i found the solution, go to the application menu....tap on every app in there , enter the battery menu for each and every app and disable use app in the background..... its incredible, the SOT that i had on nougat its the same on oreo now.....trust me this does give wonder results.....

I'm getting almost 6 hours SOT and my battery lasted almost 2 days (Snapchat, WhatsApp, PicsArt and YouTube) with german firmware.

Two days standby with 6 hr SOT is impossible unless its on Power saving mode & was not used at all. Sammy flagships don't give 2 days endurance, else they would've advertised it big time. Period!

Wow, would like to see your usage behavior & is this on WiFi or 4g? What's ur average signal strength? And what's your standby drain average?

I'm on Stock Android 8.0 CRD7 with some apps on standby and no root, everything stock.
Aod is on as you can see on the screenshot, last charge was 1 day before the screenshot was taken, I never use that battery saving mode and it's not that helpful, the only battery saver in my opinion is using the smartphone as less as possible.
I am thinking of rooting my device but the Knox Counter is the only reason why I'm still on stock..

I'm on 3g data... my country has no 4g right now unfortunately... signal strength always full.. and drain is 2% even if i let it stay all day... it's always 2%...that means if i keep the phone 45% at night and in morning i use it from 43 or 44% ..and I don't use AOD

this is my usage but it's yesterday's so can't get sot... I'll post a pic with sot tomorrow I'm on 92% right now...

you can see that i was on 1 day 14hour with 22% still left...so i could easily go to full 2 days
