I'm on 3g data... my country has no 4g right now unfortunately... signal strength always full.. and drain is 2% even if i let it stay all day... it's always 2%...that means if i keep the phone 45% at night and in morning i use it from 43 or 44% ..and I don't use AOD
3G data I can understand. 4G LTE is another beast altogether.

Battery was extreme good today, only 30min gameplay of PUBG and the rest was for the lessons in university, went out of home with 80% at 09:00 and went out of juice at 22:00, so 13 hours of total usage.
Everything Stock, Battery saver used at 7% battery.

I'm really happy with my battery life on oreo. I'm always above 6 hours SOT and even managed once to get almost from 8am one day to 5pm the next day withoug charging and moderate use.

AOD on, FHD+, automatic brightness, no gps, and around 8 hours 4g lte. Lots of instagram/facebook/reddit, around 45 minutes of gaming, lots of whatsapp, and a little bit of youtube and spotify.

Oreo Battery on S8

At first I was hesitant to upgrade my S8 to Oreo, I kept ignoring the update. Then the other day I finally get annoyed and push the "Install" option lol.

So far so good on it's battery performance. I am loving it more. :good:

7 hours of SOT (used navigation, youtube, samsung health for 2 hrs of biking, lots of web browsing)

I don't know how are you guys getting more than 3h of SOT. Since my S7 edge, now on S8, I can't even get 4 hours while using it on 4G LTE.

The device consume about 3-5%/h while in standby if I'm using it in 4G lte, however I've a good cell coverage.

Same here. I've got good 4G LTE signal and mine consumes 2-2.5% on standby doing nothing. Its Samsung's poorly optimized modem radio on Oreo. If there is way to roll back to Nougat, it should give a much improved standby.

Average screen on time is 2-3hrs, whole Day on 3g and 4g, little bit intagram and Facebook (in Browser), no gaming.
My s8 is 1 year old now, in the first few months i usually got 5-6 SOT.
Any ideas?

Exactly, I am thinking to switch to another android flagship because of the standby drain, I don't think that samsung want to fix it.

FFS is there not a single thread of XDA with large sample poll on battery performance for Oreo...?

I've been searching for a clear cut answer for 3 months it's getting tiring to get either people lying or nothing concise which prevents me from either updating or not.

My guess is even though planned obsolescence is illegal (everywhere outside of dumbistan), each non-stock update ****s your battery and performance artificially; and it's already bad on my Galaxy S8 with stock Nougat...

i get around 4-5h screen on.
no wifi only 3g with data. in a day like 10h but im at home, and have sms or facebook or whatapps the hole day, and always on display cause its useful for the time.
not bad, on wifi i can get 8h. but i dont want to use my home wifi 3g is faster lol
at home i need to charge it 2 times i mean i dont need but like around 23h (i wake up at 11h) im at like 30-20% so i like to have 50% in bed to watch some vids.

Same here. It would be absolutely fire if there wasn't 2-3% battery drain idle for me even after a fresh install without apps. It's so annoying
