Is it mostly on wifi?

Yes I dont have data on much as have wifi at home and office, but when I use Data I dont notice that its much worse, a little but not significant.

Anyone compared screen on time with display set to 1080p versus 2k?

mmm, haven't tried but have seen others say its about 10% more overall, which is not much, depending on usage patters too I guess.

lately my avg SOT is 4 hrs. once upon a time I could get over 5 hrs/ guess something is chewing my battery lately.

At the start when it came out from box, the battery was okay, but nowadays, even after factory reset its just simply bad. 2-3 hours of browsing with chrome took 40-45% of battery with low brightness display and fullHD resolution. Its just disappoointing.

Best SOT for my S8 was 7 hours. But after having the phone since release, I'm probably averaging like 5 hours SOT.
I'm medium-heavy user on AT&T, Nova, heavy social media, 4 emails syncing, Waze GPS at least 1 hour each day, Amazon Music at least 1 hour each day, Youtube, shopping online and Amazon.

That's bad? One of the best screens and 5.5 hrs is not good enough?

I get 6 majority of the time.

Sent my S8 in for a screen repair, and they replaced my battery as well. Getting better numbers out of this one than before. Consistently 4.5+ h, and today got 6 on mixed Wi-Fi and LTE. Can definitely get 7 on Wi-Fi alone.

Must be some of your apps, maybe also try to debloat your phone. One of the first things I did was debloating it and only installing apps that i know dont drain the battery and now i get always 7-9h SoT ( S8+)

I am getting barely 3.30h SOT and now am on 35% battery left. The mah that all my apps use is 1460. Based on that usage i should have like 1540mah available for usage and that translates to 60% battery. So i guess that either i don't know maths either samsung has screwed up something with the software. (1 month old galaxy s8)

These SOT threads frustrate me ? there is no way your getting over 8/9 hours on a 3000ma battery unless your using your smartphone the same as a nokia 3210!

Can someone give me a realistic SOT for a heavy data user? (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat)

Currently get 3.5 hours SOT from my Nexus 6P but looking to upgrade to an S8.

2 to 3 hours SOT that if u use all every thing that great phone cand do:
wifi - always on
mobile data - always on
AOD - always on
bluetooth with 2 devices (watch and headset) - about 6-7 hours a day
location - always on to max accuracy
auto brightness
.........

You have to set off the data saver. When it is on create a conflict with the Android OS draining your battery.
