I don't know what's worse. You calling others paid users or the fact that after 18hrs you still got 40% and are saying it sucks

To be fair, the Note was able to last a little over a day (25hrs) with similar screen on time.

My suggestion to that guy is to re-enable all of the bloat. You could have disrupted a background service (still enabled) that is constantly looking for these apps and draining battery.

SOT

Since I can't figure out how to pull from my gallery and post my screen shot. I got 5:45 mins and I'm at 2% so I better type fast.. Normal usage, you tube, social media blutooth music. In wifi most of day. About what my pixel XL got, I'll take it.

This!!!! I've always felt that way, just thought i was going crazy...I've always felt like disabling bloatware can cause more harm than good for some reason. And I've disabled abunch of stuff to free some ram, i wonder what apps could be causing this, maybe disabling knox stuff?...idk...help!
Thanks in advance!

Here is mine. Verizon model snapdragon. Super pleased with the time of 8 hours screen on time!
You're the only one on here I saw that got similar battery as I did. I want to ask....is your screen a bit red tintish?

Anyone can have 8hrs of screen on-timewith power saving mode...smh.....next!.. try without it at all till 0% do you part
As far as I know though power saving kicks in at 15% so it doesn't really make a difference in the grand scheme of things. Here's what I got on mine. A little wifi, a little Bluetooth, some web surfing, some camera usage, lots of YouTube etc regular usage with screen brightness a little less than half. MACHEK's screen seem to use more power than mine did, maybe it was set to something brighter (at least that's how I took the computed power usage mAh, correct me if im wrong)

Out of the box I got about 6+ hours from 80% charge and that's with downloading and setting up the phone with wifi on the whole time. I didn't check what I got on battery after the first charge, but this is my second charge and I'm almost on 9 hours. I don't think this is the norm though, so I think I'll average it at something like 8 hours on regular usage and between 6.5 and 7.5 hours on more intense usage, at least that's how it is for me.

Honestly man, the people saying they're getting 6-8hrs sot are probably not using their phone at all, and when they are its either for hours and hours in one go, doing very very light things.

A 6.3" HD screen, 6GM ram, 3,300mah battery is not going to yield great usage. I would expect nothing more than 4hrs on average.

Seriously, I've never understood how these people get these crazy 6+ hour screen on times. Maybe if you have zero apps installed and don't use any of the messaging apps that make a smartphone worth having. I've never gotten over 4 hours screen time with an Android phone and I use pretty minimal brightness settings and turn off 90% of app notifications. I know that Facebook, Messenger, and Instagram are supposed resource hogs but what's the point of having a smartphone if I can't use the most popular apps.

So, people with super long battery life, what are your tricks? Are you actually using the phone or just trying to see how much battery you can get?

I'm telling you, they don't. People with 6+ hrs either use their phone for 6hrs straight, or very very frequently with low power based usage.

It just isn't scientifically possible to get more than 6hrs on a 3300mah battery doing things more than the basic web, email, and absolute minimal apps.

For actual real world people, who text, call, send emails, social media, browse the web, YouTube, Gps, stream music etc, the real users... 4hrs of SOT is completely fine.

I can get 18hrs SOT if I wanted.... Literally just viewing a black image in airplane mode... Point in case: 4hrs SOT on average, expect nothing more and you will be happy lol.

I am a heavy user. One all of my other phones the best I could get is 3 1/2 to 4 hrs of OST. But so far on my Note 8 my first full day was 6hrs and the 2nd and 3rd was 5hrs and 45mins. My wifi is on all the time so is Bluetooth and my screen is not on auto. During the day it is up to 80% at night it is at 40 to 50 %. Also I am not using any battery saving modes. We will see today what happens.

I am getting almost 7 hours of SOT with my Verizon note 8. Bluetooth always on, location on, auto brightness nothing disabled minus some bloatware that was on the phone (Games etc). I mainly use Facebook, browser, check emails, text and watch you tube videos.

So far I am extremely impressed with the battery, no complaints at all.

So what do you think these people are doing with their screen on for 6+ hours? I don't understand your theory. Screen on is the largest battery sucker anyway, so literally doing nothing with your screen on is a HUGE drain regardless.
