Seriously, I've never understood how these people get these crazy 6+ hour screen on times. Maybe if you have zero apps installed and don't use any of the messaging apps that make a smartphone worth having. I've never gotten over 4 hours screen time with an Android phone and I use pretty minimal brightness settings and turn off 90% of app notifications. I know that Facebook, Messenger, and Instagram are supposed resource hogs but what's the point of having a smartphone if I can't use the most popular apps.
So, people with super long battery life, what are your tricks? Are you actually using the phone or just trying to see how much battery you can get?
Pandora, web browsing, texting, phone, asphault 8 airborne, flyclops domino, camera, palabre rss reader, youtube, some rounds of 8-ball pool etc.Honestly man, the people saying they're getting 6-8hrs sot are probably not using their phone at all, and when they are its either for hours and hours in one go, doing very very light things.
A 6.3" HD screen, 6GM ram, 3,300mah battery is not going to yield great usage. I would expect nothing more than 4hrs on average.
I don't use auto-brightness because I think that's a waste of battery as it actually use more and unnecessary power than to set it at a comfortable brightness. i don't enable diagnostics and the like.
nfc off, Bluetooth off until i'm going to use it for calls or music, i don't enable the weather connection because I can check that whenever I need to it.
I use the Samsung browser because it's faster and uses less battery than chrome, dolphin and firefox (at least that's what I've noticed)
I don't enable things that's going to drain my battery in the background or keep my device from sleeping while i'm not using it, my battery is supposed to be there when I need to use and not to be drained in the background while i'm not using it, at least that's my philosophy. so if you believe i'm not using my phone then that's what you believe, i know that i'm using my phone the way that works for me and it's been going great for me so far.
on the 15th I'm going to exchange my note 8 for a different one because my screen have a red tintish color thing going on, which i can live with but i don't want to because I paid a lot of money for this phone man....but hoping i get another phone with great battery life too. enjoy your phone man and use it how you want to use but i don't think it's cool to say others aren't using their phones. if you're a power user then put the apps you're not using to sleep that way you can have your battery to use for the things you want. the battery saving features are there on the phone for a purpose, use them.
just my 10 cents.
