It's amazing how much we actually use our phones in a given day, especially when we watch "videos"! Rate this thread to express how many hours of screen-on time you can get on the Xiaomi Mi A1 before depleting the battery.

Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!

Around 5 hour SOT and 52% battery remaining. Data on airtel 4g all time and around one hour on hotspot. The network strength is also poor.fully satisfied with battery life

It is not really, I am using only Google apps, Twitter and Reddit, and everything in the battery manager is behaving totally normal.
Well I guess that you can try to reflash the ROM with preserving data, wait couple of days and see if it gets better.

Or your signal reception is very bad.

    Excellent SOT

This is my SOT (see attached pictures) and it consistently ranges between 8.5 and 9+ hours.
MI A1 is rooted + Magisk + Xposed Framework. I don't have any "battery saver" app (e.g. Amplify, Greenify, etc).
I can only speculate that the very long SOT could be due to the combined effect of the GravityBox module of Xposed framework and the WiFi Manager app.
The former offers (in the Intelligent Modem section of the Telephone option) the ability to auto-switch from LTE to 2G whenever hooked up to a wifi signal and to auto-switch back to LTE as soon as the wifi is lost, with no human intervention, so that I always have data access at the lowest battery drain.
According to many sources (this for istance), in term of battery drain 4G > 3G > 2G > WiFi.
The latter app instead is able to auto-switch wifi to the strongest signal. Since I have two access points in different floors, it is comfortable to have such a feature which always grants the best transfer rate and the lowest current drain, since the stronger is the wifi signal the lower is the power needed to hook up the signal (see this white paper to get technical justification and the synthetic 3rd picture).
I also attach the latest two pictures with the home screen, where you can see the top right round widget of the Network Manager app which monitors the actual selected network (i.e. 2G when wifi is active, 4G when wifi is disconnected/lost).
In order to use Xposed Framework, rooting is mandatory.
I'm pretty convinced that this speculation is correct (I wouldn't put anyway my right hand on fire to defend it), since I remember that before rooting and installing Magisk+Xposed my SOT was in the 5+ hours range. Of course I cannot guarantee that the same result will apply to your phone, but give it a try and let us know.

    Ad maiora.
How the hell do you all have that, i dont understand

I bought this phone and everything was looking good with android 7.
Then i did the oreo update, it shows android version v8.0.0 , security patch april 1st and the battery started to drain a lot, for example i left the phone alone for 5 hours and battery dropped from 97% to 92% even having turned battery saving ON which makes an ugly red top Bar that i hate to see "cant belive they developed that ugly red bar when turning battery saving on", i also had bluetooth off, sync off, etc.

so your batteries dont drain or what?
Fully stock 8.1. Can't complain at all.
How did you downgrade to nougat? What method did you use?
You can flash it with MI Flash Tool. :)

Battery life with Oreo (January) for me is really great. Maybe a tiny bit weaker than Honor 8 lite. :)
