I see the message two apps have high battery usage. What are those? Also, of you hot the three dots in the upper right then select battery usage, you'll see the specific app use for this charge. Anything jump out as excessive there?

FYI ... I get about 5.5 to 6 hours from full to dead. I don't know how some of these others get more, but you should see 5 at least, I'd think.
Well greenify and dolphin browser are the culprits behind background usage im gonna uninstall dolphin anyways i only installed it because i was looking for a browser that would play hd videos is hd because well, chrome isnt playing videos in hd and isnt giving me the option to choose video quality of videos that are uploaded in hd. They all play at 360p i believe because the quality is ****ty. And i know pubg and world of tanks eat battery as well because i tend to play more than one match at a time. Ill slow down on the gaming and see if battery life improves.

Greenify and dolphin browser currently have high battery usage. Im going to uninstall dolphin because i only installed it since i was trying to find a browser that would actually play hd videos in hd. For some reason chrome no longer plays hd video and the video player doesnt let me chose video quality as it used to. Now i have to watch hd videos at what looks like 360p because they look ****ty and pixelated. Other than that i know pubg and world of tanks eat my battery because i play more than a single match at a time. Ill slow down on the games for a week and see if battery life improves.

Okay so how is everyone still getting good screen on time? On oreo i could easily go a day without charging but after upgrading to pie, i cant leave the house without my charger. I do game casually (pubg, world of tanks, sometimes ark survival but ark makes my phone hot and eats the battery) at most 3 days a week. I can barely get 2 1/2 to 3 hours of screen on time anymore. Any suggestions? Im already using adaway, unless theres a better adblocker out there that i dont know of, and greenify. Plus i already rooted and have a dark theme system wide.

Same here. I carry a battery pack wherever I go. Installed Accubattery and the first 2 days/recharges and discharges to zero have me at 4hr 28min and 3hr 45min screen on time. I knew I wasn't going crazy after Pie hit in early August. With Oreo, consistently 6+hrs screen on time. A few times 7.5 hrs!

Yep on oreo i had the best battery life with 7 hrs sot easily. Now its just sad that this update depleted what used to be i feel like we're in the same boat as iphone users, with updates somewhat downgrading older phones so we are likely to purchase the new phones which they have been optimized for.

I have never seen Pixel Ambient Services on my battery usage, let alone 73% [emoji33] I just read it is used for the "now playing" function here is a link explaining about it and how to disable it. https://www.howtogeek.com/331129/how-to-enable-or-disable-now-playing-on-the-pixel-2/ I am guessing you have it on, turn it off to see if that helps.

in other news, battery life is still ****e on this paperweight that I recently wiped to test afresh this week. max SOT is 4 hrs on a good day with only 41 apps onboard. at least on 8 I used to get about 5hrs SOT.

utter tripe from Google since the Pie update. perhaps deliberate sabotage Apple style in order to herd people to buy the new 3.

Hello. Recently I noticed that the battery is draining fastly. I am not satisfied with my phone's SOT at all, as I get only around 3 hours, 24 hours standby. I tried to reset the phone, but no changes. Always on display, location and now playing are turned off, and automatic brightness is on. What can I try?

Edit: 4g is always on. I don't have wireless network, so I use only mobile data. Bluetooth is rarely used, so I keep it off. I use the phone for browsing (firefox), photos (not a lot), phone calls, whatsapp and a little youtube.

I have got my Pixel 2 last week, and I miss my Pixel XL OG battery. I only get a maximum of 4 hours of SOT.
I am on the latest Pie update. I regret I didn't get Pixel 2 XL instead of the regular Pixel 2. Actually my only probablem is the battery life.

Is it a new device?
I had the small Pixel 1 which was about the same as the P2 on standby drain , maybe better. The Pixel 2 is better at CPU intensive tasks such as camera.
You can analyse what is draining your battery , maybe something is not right.

My Pixel 2 is less than 1 year old and I have just a little over 3 hours SOT. Wanna trade? Haha just kidding. It's not that bad.

Also SOT is different from one person to another, it depends on many things.

The recent updates to android pie really made this phone go down the crapper in terms of battery life.

I was on the April 2019 Pie build and had enough, I actually went and downgraded to the last available Oreo build.

Battery life is better and definitely more tolerable than it was on the later builds of Pie.

Hi, i bought a one year old Pixel 2, i got only 4 hour SOT, what do you think, if i buy and replace battery i will get 6 hour SOT? Thanks for answer
If you have many social media apps and with heavy usage, that's good. battery life. I barely reached 5 hour screen on time with 4% battery left, but i just have one social media app installed (whatsapp)

Has anyone turned off all the apps one by one for background activities and all the other useless features, battery eating AoD's etc.? Is it still the lousy 3 or maybe 4 hours?
I got quite consistent SoT of 6-8 hours on Pixel 1 with everything extra turned off, yet I could watch youtube for some hours and use insta, didn't use fb or twitter at all. Always put apps to sleep with Greenify. Camera was the hungriest with 1% / 1min.
