I am getting about 5h SOT, would be very interested to see how to get more
That's right. It you constantly use the phone after 100% charge you are most likely to get more SOT which I think is true for any phone. Key is how long the device can survive with minimum idle drain and maximum SOT.The trick to getting better battery in most cases is simply to use your phone more. It's easy to get 6-8hrs SOT within 12hrs of unplugging your phone. It's almost impossible to do over a 48hr period.
Try for yourself.
What do you mean "I've got 65%"?Literally just with location disabled I've got 65%.
Last full charge 14h 58m ago.
Screen on time 2 hours 49 minutes
About 15 hours 5 minutes left based my usage.

Sorry uploaded a different screen shot after I posted that, but at the time I made that post I was at 65% battery, sorry for any confusionWhat do you mean "I've got 65%"?
That's what I am afraid of...P2 looks like similar to my P1XL. I had 15 hours SB and 2 hours of SOT with 50% battery left. On Pixel 1 XL I had about 30% left with 16 hours of SB and 3.5 hours of SOT < WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, and all sycns are all ON
I've got to admit screen on time is amazing on this phone for such a small battery I'm totally amazed.I think I can hit 6 hours SoT every day. But I charge my phone before that happens.
On vacation day it lasts less (because of constant Google maps and Camera usage) but much more than my previous phone. In these cases the SoT could reach 3 hours I guess.

I also have a g5 plus and am looking to switch to a pixel. Does your g5 plus also have a bug where activating speakerphone during a call takes a few seconds? That's what I am afraid of...
I keep Bluetooth on constantly. I don't use NFC and I keep GPS to battery mode, but still GPS is always on in some form. When I briefly tested it out the drain felt like it would be poor battery life. That's, of course, a subjective measure though. I need to see 5-6 SOT in order to be happy.
As a baseline, I have a g5 plus. I keep Bluetooth on, GPS on battery save mode (but on), use wifi when I can. I work in a low signal area... 2 bars max. No wifi to alleviate that. I see about 6 hours SOT using the chrome, Feedly, and Napster mostly during the day.
Everything has a tiny delay, as it's not an 835 processor, but I don't recall it taking too long. Hmm...I also have a g5 plus and am looking to switch to a pixel. Does your g5 plus also have a bug where activating speakerphone during a call takes a few seconds?
That's what I've been getting for battery. I'm also very happy about this. I triple the sot of my wife's g4 lolSecond day with my pixel 2 , I'm very pleased.
If you are facing vibration cuts, it might be because you're on a custom rom or kernel which raised the vibration strength. Like elemental x. Try stock.Everything has a tiny delay, as it's not an 835 processor, but I don't recall it taking too long. Hmm...
The problem I'm running into with my g5+ is the vibrate cuts in and out. It's very annoying. It's also troublesome as I use the vibrate notification when I'm at work.
I'm still on the fence. The convenience of the front facing button that doubles as a power button (great when it's on my desk AND saves my power button from wear and tear).
The fingerprint scanner on the p2 does not double as a power button, so it'll only turn the device on. Further, with it sitting face up, you can't access the scanner to begin with.
I'm so undecided... I like the quality the power, I have hopes for comparable (or at least acceptable battery), I welcome the newest software guarantee, and I like the camera. But real world use, I don't know if I can live with the loss of convenience. Lol.
Hmm, I'll have to pay more attention for that and see. That's interesting...If you are facing vibration cuts, it might be because you're on a custom rom or kernel which raised the vibration strength. Like elemental x. Try stock.
Also, what I meant is if you are already in a call, and you activate speakerphone midcall, it takes like 3 seconds to activate. I just read this is actually a safety feature, not a bug. Slowly cranks up volume.
