The screen time on this phone is actually quite good compared to S9. You can get more out of it by using the lower resolution and eye comfort mode.

When I bought my Mate 10 (non Pro version) I was getting 4.5 to 5+ hours SOT at around 50% battery life left. But after doing the 136 (C636) update with the June security patch, I can only get 6hr-6.30hrs at max of SOT with less than 10% battery life yet. At FHD, wifi when available. I still think 6 to 6.5 hours is good but nowhere close to what I was getting before the Software update that came with the facial unlock. Any thoughts why less SOT post update? How can I get it back to the more superb battery life?

I'm on BLA L29 8.0.0.145 C432

had like 2 updates since I got the phone and as most of you the battery at the beginning seemed best, however, I've recently tried to play around with the power saving as it extends the life quite a bit and so far I'm at 40% with 4:30 SOT with the following settings:

Autobrightness on
Mobile data or WiFi always on
GPS on sometimes
Vibration and sound on
Data saving mode on
Automatic resolution
And using shortcuts ive overrided save mode autosync options to be ON, as well as having the screen off time set for 10 minutes instead 15s

Using social media most of the day and about 1h music, Pretty happy with this settings

I've got mate 10 with 136 too
Battery seems better then 135 and memory too
But I don't know if it's because of reset factory

But I have problems with usb while connecting to computer. I can't transfer file anymore.
Do you have the same issue?

night at 1hr 11mins SOT with 90% battery left. Thats about a a little over 1hr of SOT with 10% drain only which is pretty impressive. Browsing, Instagram and Facebook with the following updated settings

Wifi
65-70% brightness
Turned off mobile data alwats on when I was on wifi
Noticed only 2% drop in battery overnight (Woke up at 88% Battery)
FHD
Data Saver AND Power Saving modes are all OFF

Currently Im at almost 2hrs SOT with 78% still left in the tank. Im trying to get a consistent healthy battery with these and push my usage more to see if i can get close to 7 hours or more of SOT before I need to recharge. Anybody else having great battery life and post your settings here. Thanks!

-WiFi/LTE(never turn it off in favor of 3G)
-auto brightness
-AoD & GPS high accuracy
-sync 1 gmail 1 hotmail 1 company mail
-WhatsApp,Line & FB messenger lite
-Twitter,Twidere,Tapatalk,sync GDrive & MEGA
-games including Vikings & Shadow Fight 3
-Nova Launcher PRO & Pixel icon pack(much more fluid than stock)
-charging overnight with 2A/5V qc3.0 charger

Tried to swap with OP6 for a week w my cousin and came begging for Mate back lol.

Wow, impressive ! Is it with Mate 10 Pro, and which firmware version please ? I guess Volte is not activated.

Mate 10 Pro, It was the same in almost every version up to 145 including it. Dunno bout VOLTE....I'm not using it.

Only thing that can drain battery quicker is bad signal/phone usage in rural areas. Then it decreases significantly.

any idea how to avoid singal draining? I have roaming, but it keeps finding my provider with very small amount of signal and it goes from roaming to not roaming all the time at night

I bought the Huawei Mate 10 a few days ago and this is my very first usage from 100% to 4%:



I'm still adjusting the settings, installing applications, copying data, testing all features... The battery lasts almost like on my old Xiaomi Redmi 3S but with much stronger hardware.

EDIT:

Forgot to write the setup...

- WiFi or LTE
- auto brightness
- GPS a few minutes
- sync 1 Gmail, 1 Outlook, 1 Evernote, 1 Firefox
- Viber, WhatsApp, Skype
- stock launcher (I will install Nova later)
- no power saving or airplane
- charged via notebook because of copying data

Yeah that's great,if I didn't have a fair share of gaming I would get even more. I think 12h is a real possibility but who would stare 12h a day into a phone?

Mate 10 Pro, firmware is EMUI 9, v161.
My screen usage data is funny. The game I played a lot today shows 4:12h, total sot is 3:37. I also used Facebook, messenger and WhatsApp and browsed the web. Phone was charged to 100% last night, no charging after that.
Also, my SOT seems always a bit low, never reaching over 6h, while many report 8+(the recorded SOT from battery management). I use dark theme in interface and all apps that can do it, apps mostly auto battery management. Had the phone for less than a month and updated to Pie the same day I bought it. Never really felt like I don't have enough battery for 1 day, but this is bugging me a little.
My wife getting 12+hours SOT during 2 days on her Moto E5 plus doesn't help my ego, either ?
