Water battery lol

Ive not felt any need to delve in to any stats. Like most people I know charge before going to bed, wake up fully charged and aim for that to last till I go to bed. This happens or has been with previous pixel phones too.

At worse, if it's beena day in, as and many hours on YouTube video, I'll plug in, early evening or needing to plug in before sleeping.

So from my perspective nothing conclusive or definitive. There's some options, searching the settings menu about limiting background task energy.

Whilst it doesnt affect me at all, I do still do still run think power management hasn't been optimised. I returned end mate 20 pro a month or so back, and despite end energy nuances of daily charges did phones, thing lasted up to two days.

After having this phone for 3 days now my only concern is they've still not fixed the aggressive memory management

6 hours SOT maybe a little bit more.
Dark mode
AOD off
Kirisakura kernel
Blackenedmod script
Battery save at 15%
Most WiFi usage but also on mobile.
Location ON. I run an app that runs 24 /7 and requires location.
Heavy chrome Instagram Spotify usage.

Use battery saving mode on time. I'm getting similar results. I accidently plugged in the charger at the last bit (thought I took the screenshot but I didn't) but you can see it only charged about 2%.
Wow. I considered a Pixel 3 but based on the size of the battery I was worried the battery life wouldn't be very good. Looks like I was right. I'm glad I passed on it.

Happy with the battery life

Pretty happy with SOT with my fairly light usage - this was fully charged at around 9pm day 1, left off the charger overnight and then a day at work connected to wifi, off the charger for another night and then needed charging after lunchtime at work on day 3.

Ciao to all guys, I have one question regarding always on display function. I see that when it is active, my statistic of the "Screen Usage" is counting also when the Always On feature is on. I try to explain better, if I use my phone for 10 hours, and for 5 hours it is showing the Always On, this 5 hours are going inside the Screen Usage. So, if I use my phone for 1 hours in this 10, you will see 6 hours of "Screen Usage."

This does not appear if I keep my phone in a pocket (in this case Always On don't work since the prossimity sensor turn off the screen). So, any other user has the same situation? I think this is why Always On consume a lot of battery. Thanks

hi all,
I considering switching from my Samsung S8 to the Pixel 3. but my main concern would be the battery life. I get pretty decent battery life on my S8 whereby I no longer have any anxiety over having to charge the phone mid-day. I wireless charge it each night, and it can last me easily a full day, sometimes more depending on my usage.

since everyone's settings/usage varies, the big think I look for is battery drain when idle. can some folks please provide the average battery drainage when idle? for example, on my S8, the battery drains about 1.5%/hour when idle. I leave on all the time LTE, WiFi, bluetooth (connected to my watch constantly, to my car when driving, and ear buds when exercising/running), high accuracy GPS, and AOD only between the hours of 10pm-7am. I also have notifications set to vibrate - but only for texts/e-mails.
I also have the Samsung Ad-blocker installed as well as Greenify (from my understanding, adguard should work on Android Pie)

thanks for your responses.

I'm having between 3-4 hours max of SOT with very moderate usage per day (some SMS, little chrome surf, few photos, gmail account synced, no wifi, no games, etc), which is below my expectations of the Pixel 3, a bit sad :( I need to charge my Pixel3 (not XL) almost 2 times a day. For a brand new high-end phone in 2019, this is just unacceptable.
Hi all,

Does anyone get a fast drain from 100 to 90 even doing nothing ?

Thanks
If it can help, I'm losing generally between 4-6% during pure idle overnight (4G LTE).

Yeah I have the same, and I have full coverage :/

Last week I was doing some research with this
Battery historian ( I can't post the link sorry )

Couldn't find any reason why it loses so much in idle.

It's like it doesn't go into doze mode or something like that

Got my Pixel 3 recently and so far it's my best with 5h10 of SOT on 2 day (charged day 1 at 9am and screenshot took day 2 at 19pm):

AOD : only when tapping
Battery saver : turning on at 30%
App tracing trick : done

I also have a fast drain for the 5 to 8 first % of battery, I will try to recalibrate.

If you havent seen progress on "intelligent battery" yet. Turn it off. Many have reported better results that way.

6h 45m sot

Im on regular pixel 3 and i was able to hit 6h 40min sot with 20% remaining over a 19h period. I was using LTE and I was mainly on Google chrome reading I was inside all day so the brightness was about 25%. I'm sure I couldve surpassed 8h... after a day of work with videos, music and phone calls im around 2h 45min sot with 55-58% remaining. disabling adaptive battery made a huge difference. I charged my phone to 100% just before bed and only 2% drained after 8h of sleep
aod off
NFC off
Bluetooth off
wifi scanning off
adaptive battery off
adaptive display off
lift to check off
double tap to check on
location on
keyboard sounds off
all vibrate off even fingerprint sensor

Battery Life of all Pixel 3 variants

Hello, (sorry for my bad english, I'm German)

I'm looking for a new device, bc my old HTC 10 loses massively battery life (1-1,5h SOT) and I have to charge it 1-2 a day, so I guess I have an average usage of 4-6h SOT per day.
Now I have to choose between a used Pixel 3/3 XL (~400€) or a new Pixel 3a/3a XL (~370-450€); Pixel 4 is not an option, maximum 450€
Main factors for me are the camera and vanilla android, so I can get along with all of them. But also the battery is a facotr, bc in my opinion it's the point who limits the usage in 3 years, so I will get the Pixel whth the best battery life (if there are appreciable differences)
I read that the Pixel 3 is quite bad, so first I looked for the Pixel 3a wit its smaller SoC (is this a notable factor?) because I liked the really handy size.
But now I read, that the XL models has despite their bigger screens a better battery life - is the difference between 3400mAh+1440p and
3700mAh+1080p a significant factor? Otherwise I doubt with the bigger size, is it worth considerung the greater battery?

I hope some Pixel users could give me advices to choose the best Pixel phone fpr the next few years.

Thanks!

Hey mate,

Good choice informing on XDA first, I used the HTC 10 in the past and had the same issue so I can relate.

I'm now using pixel 3 and I'm having a sot of 5h still after half a year of usage, must say Android 10 is part of this.

Out of all of the pixel 3's the 3a XL indeed has the best battery, the lower quality screen is part of this. It also has a smaller screen surface and a bigger battery compared to the 3xl.

Check out some videos on YouTube as well regarding sot's there's plenty of them.
