I got this phone for my mom and she drops from full to about 20% in a few hours. I've never seen a phone drain so fast. Having her try things to get better battery but so far no change. I'm going to see her this weekend to see what I can do. What software version is everyone on?

snapdragon...10 hours SOT, depending on use, with auto brightness enabled.

Bluetooth and wifi on, sync on (2 email accounts, twitter, several offline news/rss feeds and a few dozen stocks widgets updating every hour). And while playing solitaire my battery usage doesn't go much above 10% per hour, if at all.

I'm on the may update and the best i was able to do is 2h20 with 40% charge (today, mainly wifi browsing and emails). I am still tweaking around a bit. The problem though is not with the battery ( i used to have a v30 with 3300mah and snap845 that still managed 6h/7h of sot) but with the way the processor (exynos ) is managed. The standby battery drain is ridiculous, 1% hour sitting there doing nothing is way too much.

No Aod
No edge lighting
Optimized battery mode
Sync on
GPS on
90-> 50%

Exynos model is ridiculous. Samsung does not care about its customers mostly in Europe forcing them to buy way worse soc.

Okay, I'm late to the party but loads of folks will now pick up the s10e on the secondary market, so I'll add my experience on an unlocked snapdragon phone running stock t-mobile and Nova prime. Fresh reset with all updates completed.
9hrs SOT consistently! Usually charge it every other day. The phone was a year old when I got it. I think the battery life is amazing and very similar to my previous Oneplus 6 with a much larger battery/screen.
Full disclosure:
Out of the box I immediately disabled Facebook and saw just shy of 8hr SOT over several cycles. Lots of wakelocks though (GSAM), so I turned off lift/tap to wake, and AOD. One of these was apparently the culprit and I don't need the features. Out of annoyance I remapped Bixby to single press off, double press to launch something useful, and long press for google assistant. Out of habit (and the fact I wear a tin foil hat), I disabled com-tmobile.pr.adapt. I tend to avoid disabling system apps as it often honks things up and battery life is worse. Rather, I turn off background data and data usage access to apps I do not want or use and hide the icons in my launcher. So, no other disables other than switching to google apps from samsung and making sure samsung acct and apps turned off and not able to run in the background. Each day I use twitter a lot, 2-3hrs media streaming via wifi, gestures on, minimal simple game or two, nfc is on, dozens of mms, and a 2-3 hours of talk time. Over 2 weeks of use I routinely get 9hrs SOT and have 25-30% left in the tank. I'm becoming less of a samsung fan due to the time it takes to set up their system, but the hardware and build quality are top notch (no pun intended) and the screens are terrific. If my OP 6 had been a bit smaller, and the new ones smaller still, I'd still be using a OP phone. But I do like the form factor and quality of the S10e.

Exynos and debloat, the week in this pic is always with wifi , if I use 4g i get only 4h of sot. Coming from a OP3 that gets only 3.5h this phone is so good for me

Interesting thanks. Thinking about new phone and only good options under $500 and 150mm tall seem to be S10e and Pixel 4a.

Just out of interest, I've always had a notification light and not had to think much about how I'd get on without one. If you disable tap to wake and AoD, how do you know if you have notifications waiting (assuming you miss the initial sound/vibration)? I wish new phones would stop removing basic functionality *old man shaking fist*

Yeah, my stats usually say closer to 10hrs, but that's probably within the variance of our individual settings. As I write that, one app tells me just over 11 hours while the other says 7.5 (but I haven't done a full charge/discharge in a while so the calibrations might be a bit off).

I try to charge mine every night, though. I got the Chargie so I could keep it around 50% at night to maximize battery life, but their software doesn't play all that nice with Samsung. As I said, calibration might be a bit off but after 11 months I supposedly still have 98-99% capacity. But maybe I'm kidding myself hoping for 4+ years out of the battery - most seem to start failing around 2.5 years regardless of how much of the original capacity is left.

LOL some of the posts in here are hilarious.... Yeah 9 or 10 hours screen on time, sureeeeeeee. Leaving your phone on min brightness while not using it on a black screen to get some xda likes is pretty pathetic. For a NORMAL person who uses their phone like a normal person, these numbers are not possible or remotely realistic. Hey you boosted your xda cred though right?
Dunno what you are on about? 8 hours and even more is very doable at least on the SD variant. I got 4 hours SOT today with 51% Left.

I get pretty good SOT and battery life too on the Exynos variant of the S10e:

Part of it might be that I'm using BeyondROM and the Arter97 variant of ThundeRStormS-Kernel. Both have some optimizations for battery, but still the performance is very decent:

I rooted my S10e right after buying it this August, so I don't have a comparison to the stock rom.

Happy Christmas and Thanks. Would this help with wifi and bluetooth not connecting and very high battery drain? My phone stopped working properly after the Sept update and Samsung do not want to know.

I didn't read about other users having these issues on the Samsung stock firmware. BeyondROM is based on it and ThundeRStormS-Kernel is based on Samsung sources too, with some optimizations here and there, so IMO this won't make a difference for your issues.

If you didn't factory reset your phone yet to try to fix your issues, you should give this a go first.

Unlocking and rooting your phone to install a custom ROM isn't a good idea, because you will lose warranty which you need if your issues should be hardware-related.

Also you could ask in the forums that I linked or in their corresponding Telegram groups, maybe they can give you some advice there. Merry Christmas to you too and good luck. :)
