There is something going on in my device when it sleeps i am convinced of it. There is an issue somewhere. When I am intentionally trying to batter the battery with youtube, videos etc.. it drains acceptably i think. My phone has been off charge since 17:41 yesterday (it is 12:19 now). It has used 5 hours, 37mins of SOT. That is not actually too bad considering 53% of the software used was youtube.

However i only have 25% of my battery left. I have known users record much better than this. It has primarily been on wifi. I would post screenshots but it doesnt let me on here.

Advise what? Shows clearly what used your battery, and that it is fine during sleep
Thanks for that but my point is I never get much out of the so called battery beast it is claimed to be, and the only reason i purchased this phone for. On average i get no more than 5 hours and given it had a full charge as of nearly 6pm last night, sitting here now with 22% at not even 1pm is hardly great, is it? Even despite the fact i had an hour or two on youtube last night.

Just looking for some help and advise thats all pal.

This my current SoT after the EMUI 10.0.0 update. Looks like it's better, maybe due to Android 10's Dark Mode that affects several apps - like Play Store, which is now dark.

I get barely 6 hours SOT to completely drain my battery... :( and that's on wifi, when on mobile data, even less.

You should properly configure every single setting on system's manager app, for every single app (system apps and third-party apps). Remember the way you always use your phone daily and configure all those settings by paying attention to your needs - I mean functionality. For example: which apps should be able to autostart? Which ones you don't want to wake up by other apps you have also installed? Which apps should be kept working in background (RAM)? Which apps should have limited or blocked access to mobile data? And so on. . .

You have those options in there - you must configure them manually.

That's the advantage of a custom Android OS, like EMUI. For example, my previous Android One phone (Nokia 9 PureView) didn't have any options like these ones - it only has a switch to activate or deactivate the Adaptative Battery, which does an automatic management but its SoT was (still) always poor.

PS: the following screenshot shows the EMUI's system app I'm referring to

I did all that, and here I am, 10am to 10pm, from 100% to 17%, with 5 and a half hours SOT. All day on wifi. If I were on 4g, it would be even worse. I use the phone mostly for work and I am afraid to do a hard reset since there can be something forever lost which I wont remember to back up, and I am not even sure it would work so it could all be for nothing. Cant see the point of having a great phone if I need to look for a power outlet twice a day basically :(

This is the current SoT of my 2nd day of continuous usage without charging the battery (down from 100%).

I have always the GPS signal turned ON, as well always a net connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data, but not both at the same time). I've also kept every single app open (w/ minimize swipe-up ?? gesture).

I also have my Huawei Watch GT-614 continously connected by Bluetooth to my Huawei P30 Pro, using Huawei's own Health app always running in the background, continuously measuring my heartbeat and counting my footsteps as well.

PS: this time, half battery gave me more SoT because I didn't turned ON the Performance Mode at any time

Here's my phone SoT and its usage pattern.

Much less than my previous SoT, because this time I've played PES 2020 in a continuous gaming session for a couple of hours using the new Huawei's GameCenter app.

However, my P30 Pro has almost reached the 8 hours mark WITH A SINGLE CHARGE.

BATTERY HAS BEEN FULLY CHARGED

My P30 Pro is running EMUI 10.0.0 (Android 10 stable) with the .173 build and look how many battery it wasted while I was reading and writing here on XDA app for almost 1 hour. . .only 2%:p

??
