Stock rom. Surfing web, video watching on stremio, youtube etc. I think on stremio there is alot of battery saving do to non full screen ratio issues with that app so plenty of space is not used at all. Battery saving enabled.

I'm pretty sad about this battery in this phone guys, buy 3 days ago and I have only 4-5h sot , how to get more ? Overall photos videos and speed are great but. I see user have like 8-10 some 12 how ? I don't play games

Miui 12 is getting me 5 sot. Its time to hard reset the phone to see true sot. Will post results after hard reset. Hope miui 12 didnt screw with sot.
P.S ram management is somewhat rubbish with miui 12. It uses more ram even in idle. 3.5-4.2 gb of ram compared to 2.5-3 at the maximum in idle

There's something buggy with the battery stats in MIUI12, it's only showing the last 24h or so of battery usage.
Right now it's showing me almost 6h SOT but the graph only starts 24h ago when i had 80% left, the first 20% of usage (100 to 80) aren't counted in that number.
So the real SOT is somewhere in the 7-8h region(similar to miui11) as opposed to the 6h it's showing.

After hard reset im getting more sot. But its still not near miui 11 but i see increase in sot over time same goes for free ram. Now im on 2.8-3.0 gb of free ram. I didnt have the chance to calibrate battery yet but im gonna do that. Im guessing it will be around 8-8.5 hours. Not satisfied untill 10h sot. Disabling msa in every corner and analytics doesnt do that much because they self activates in background trying to communicate to release logs etc. Even if they are background disabled. Some other process is reactivate them. If its xiaomi service framework then its disaster. Cant disable that because of cloud and setting backup.

How did you do the "hard reset" ? Was it from the xiaomi recovery ? Or was it just a factory reset from MIUI itself ?

Usual hard reset with button combination. Volume up and stand by button. Im getting up to 10h now not there just yet but aprox. 9h 40min. I hope it will continue rising. It must be this adaptive thing kicking in. Somehow i feel that miui 11 was a better version for battery usage. 12sot on miui 11 was my maximum. I dont think it will ever happen again. Maybe some miui 12 patches will fix that in future.

I didn't do anything special (except dark mode, no app battery management) and use my phone normally. I was also surprised by these SOT. The first time I had 14 or 15 hours I thought that may be I had plugged the phone in between so I didn't pay attention then I realised that it was the usual sot I had.

I wonder whether that SOT thing is really relevant when you see how different the figures can be depending mainly on the OS version...

SOT is always relevant as long as its longer then 5-6 hours. Playing games on a phone is another matter. Its not realistic sot when playing games do to settings in game if those are present in game. As long as SOT is approximately 10h then its ok, that's an increase compared how it was before. I have also everything on dark mode. We will see increase in SOT in couple of years. I wouldn't be surprised if SOT is 20h in 5 years.
