Great call on the brotect protector. I was a bit dubious of it at first as there was quite a lot of detritus and dust on the surface of the protector when I took it out of the packaging. But I managed to get it fitted with no dust particles or bubbles. It would've been easier to line up if the starting end was switched to the fingerprint detector end as well. But the end result is very good.

I used the wet apply method, so there will be no bubbles.

Do you think it is really glass?

Will not notice it, it stops short of the curve but covers all of the display area.

I have to admit I thought I'd been ripped off at first, there are loads of great quality film protectors out there which are way cheaper than this. But it said in the accompanying documentation to try bending the little strip left over once the protector had been fitted, and it cracked and splintered when I tried to fold it flat. So yes, it does appear to be glass OK. But is it worth the asking price? Well I thought it would have 2.5d curved edges but they are just straight. And the presentation leaves a lot too be desired. But given how thin it it, it just about worth it.

Like you, I bend it and it cracks like real glass. However I also burn it and it seem to burn and melt like plastic so I am not too sure.

I am not too worried about 2.5D edge or not as my fingers don't go that far, usually. That could just be me.

It possibly melts because it is thin. Don't forget that glass is created by melting silica (a sand-like material).

I am using Orzero for Huawei MediaPad M5 8.4 inch Tempered Glass Screen Protector,[Upgraded] from AMZ. It has a "carbon fiber" skirt at the edge which makes the transition from the screen to the 2.5D edge smooth. No bubble with installation. Fingerprint sensor perhaps hindered just a bit but overall apparently (only have had it for 2 days) a good product.

How do you feel about the product now a few days later? Is it compatible with the soft shell case that comes included with the Mediapd?

Still delighted with the product. I feel left out as I did not get the soft shell case you described. I am using this case Huawei Mediapad M5 Case, TopACE Ultra Thin Soft Gel TPU Silicone and are satisfied with it as well with the caveat that it would be better if it had more of a raised lip to protect the screen better......but that's why you have the screen protector, right?
Also rooted the M5 yesterday are glad I did.

not many good choices here; I am going to try some film type for this device, since glass rarely fits well on curved screens
