I have a ZAGG maximum protection and honestly I love the quality, however the bubbles and such never fully came out in some areas and it is a BIT hazy, HOWEVER...being able to hold it and knowing that its not gonna get scratched and such...is simply amazing, also has a lifetime warranty I believe so I could just tell them to give me a new one and they will!

I used Zagg until they changed the installation package to the sponge. Found Skinomi, which is the same quality as Zagg, had the lifetime warranty, and the spray bottle installation method.
I wouldn't use anything else.

The 3 ZAGG screen protectors I've gotten have all had a spray bottle and squeegee card for installation. Unfortunately, dust or something got under mine when putting it on, so I don't know if I want to deal with it or try again as it's fine otherwise and the problem isn't that noticeable.

Just curious as to why you put a screen protector on?
These have Gorilla Glass. The zagg video seems to be fake. personally I have my Fascinate as is, no problems. as does my wife and daughter. Here is the kicker. Just last week my wife went to her parents house and was parked on the street about to get out of the car when a truck turned into the street so fast my wife almost got hit. She jumped in the car, shut the door to avid it getting taken with the truck, but she dropped her Fascinate screen side down into the street. I can take pictures if no one believes me, but the edges (not the screen, but the plastic edges) are all sorts of jacked up. The screen doesn't even have a single scratch. In the past I used zagg products for my g1, mytouch, ipad, etc. but I have yet to put even the slightest scratch on my naked Fascinate.

I got some Realook protectors from Amazon and they are really nice, much better than the VXW ones they have, even has a cutout hole instead of a notch for the earpiece along with a smaller protector for the camera.

So far so good and they only cost $10.99 for 2 of them shipped. I don't think you can get a much better deal that that?

Was just going to post this! Just placed my order! Guys these are the best protectors around... Here are links to the Ultra Clear and the Anti Glare. I've only used the Ultra Clear, I think it would be a crime to hide this beautiful screen with an anti glare... There is a new video on these pages showing install on a Galaxy S... you can literally install them this easily and then lift up with the stickers to remove any dust with another sticker if you get any. You get 2 per pack.

Gorilla Glass can/does scratch. It's not that hard. Anything harder than it (steel, for instance) and sharp applied with some force will scratch it relatively easily. Sure, it's a lot less likely to be damaged than a plastic screen, but it can still happen.

A great screen protector like the Steinheil ultra clear's, will be almost impossible to tell you have installed, and feel just like glass, so that your interaction with the phone isn't changed at all. For $7 (if you split a 2 pack with someone) that's worth knowing the glass will be safe to me.

Zagg and other "wet install gummy style" protectors, look like garbage on the screen in comparison.

Well the last coupler of zagg orders for my N1 and my sons eris were sponge. Thought they had switched entirely.
Lol. I apply these things alone, in good light, with a very careful surgical procedure. You seriously cannot tell it's on there at all unless you look for the edge lines.

Got these based on your post. Best protector I've used crystal clear and easy to apply. Almost applies itself with 0 bubbles. Thanks for the tip.

I'm surprised no one mentioned any experience with Wrapsol. They looked like a nice Zagg alternative. They claim to protect the phone from falling impact without that rubbery urethane feel.

In terms of gorilla glass being impervious, there are all sorts of videos on youtube that give you a pretty good idea. Yes, it's a very hard surface and does fine against things like car keys, but those aren't the most dangerous thing out there to the glass of your phone - sand is much harder than steel. I got so paranoid I kept my phone in a little zip-sealed sandwich baggy until the protectors came in the mail.
In terms of drop safety for the bare glass, it seems like you can get away with a 3 foot drop, even onto concrete, with limited damage. Your mileage may vary. I saw one tester do 3 3-foot drops in a row, and the third obliterated the glass. A six foot drop seems to do in the material pretty much instantly.

If my retailer didn't try to squeeze me $7 over list price for a screen protector, I probably would have gone with the Zagg invisible shield they suggested. They do an expert job of installing them, and in retrospect, I probably would have been willing to pay them extra to do it. However, I felt like it was a rip and plunged headfirst into figuring out how these screen guards vary. I will say that that Zagg was the best option I found for a printed custom back cover for my phone for $20 (an option I didn't elect to pursue).

I decided I couldn't go wrong with the Stealthguard deal, They seem to use the same materials as the Zagg product and feel the same against the skin. They're cheap enough, I wish I bought myself two. They do a fine job of protecting the back of the phone (but not the sides or buttons). However, I am a very poor screen installer. I got all kinds of bubbles on my first application, so I peeled it up and reapplied in each region. The end result was a smooth surface, with weird little silvery veins going through where I stretched the adhesive. They left no residue behind, a key factor for me. They also "healed" a little over a few days, but I'm glad I didn't put that on the front of my phone.

For the front glass of my phone I went with the Realook. I was totally naive in my application. I ran the shower on hot for several minutes to get rid of any dust that might be in the air, turned on the heat lamp in the bathroom, put on some nitrile gloves, and laid out a towel on the counter to give me a clean working surface. What a horrible experience! The screen protector was cut perfectly to the phone, but peeled backwards in my opinion with the speaker notch at the end instead of the beginning. And that perfect cut makes the install very touchy, even a degree off and I got an air bubble on the side of the screen. The screen itself adheres perfectly, almost vaccuumed itself to the surface of the phone - but even the slightest bit of dust would show as a bubble. In any case, my towel was full of lint and the gloves just picked it up and spread it around. I highly recommend avoiding both towels and gloves! Clean hands works best. Anyway, before I knew it I had used both screens and effectively wasted them.

This was where the best feature of the Reallook screens comes in, and why I'll probably put them on every device I have the future. The things clean up under warm water! So after peeling the screen up with a toothpick, I rinsed it and dried it carefully with a hair dryer. Reapplied and it looked pretty good, I'm a total spaz so I never got it perfect, but that was never the product's fault. The material is invisible, smooth with the Swype keyboard, and is indiscernible from an uncovered screen. It does pick up fingerprints somewhat, but doesn't everything? It wipes down easily. My only complaint about it is the product listing said it would come with an extra protector for the camera, and it did not. Inevitably, anything over a lens reduces its optical clarity, so they must have stopped doing that. It's perfectly clear, it's smooth, and it can be reapplied. I can't ask anything more of a screen protector. My $11 was well spent, and an extra $3 covered the back. So that's my experience.

I've been using invisible shield for the past 4 years with all kinds of phones, and from my experience I believe they are the best screen protectors overall. Yeah, it might have a orange peel texture, but it is clear as day if applied correctly. You'd only see that texture if the screen is off and you move it around under light. Granted, it isn't a easy shield to apply, but to really get it good, preparation and patience are your best friends. You wouldn't notice my shield unless you looked for it; Swyping is still as good as ever, and life time warranty no questions asked is awesome. Plus there are always deals and discounts. I was able to save 50% off 3 shields very recently; if anyone wants the code pm me.

And on another note about the gorilla glass; I cracked my screen within the first week of owning it by dropping it as I was getting out of my car. Not more than a 2 feet drop as the phone was on my lap. Seriously pissed me off, but it shows that even this gorilla glass isn't invulnerable to physics.

... than you've never used other good protectors. Steinheil, boxwave, and realook are all WAY better screen protectors than an invisible shield. The invisible shield is a good way to protect the plastics of the phone, as are any other such protector. But I wouldn't recommend one for use on the screen. I've used all of the above, and having a large office of smartphone users, I can do side by sides on the exact same devices too.

Invisible shield isn't nearly as clear as say, the Steinheil protector. If you look at both on a phone side by side you'll notice a yellowish tint on the Invisible Shield.

The invisible shield isn't nearly as smooth as a Steinheil. As you noted, you can see orange peel on the invisible shield. Not only is this noticeable when looking at the phone at an angle (a Steinheil for comparison, is as smooth as the glass as it's on and has NO orange peel), but you can also feel it in touch. The Steinheil feels like glass.

The invisible shield also is a gummy/rubbery finish. The gummy finish is a noticeable drag against your finger, which sucks for swype. Once you get a lil skin oil on a steinheil, it's just like the stock glass - you can flick your finger on it very quickly with nearly no drag at all which is great for Swype.

Not trying to knock your choice or opinion, but rather make sure that others are educated... Feel free to buy whatever you like, but don't blanket accept something as the best without trying it.

Don't worry; I was just starting my own personal experience with my shield, in hopes of educating others. I believe my post was more sharing and less preaching, or at least I hope it was.

I've used most of the protectors you mentioned, minus Steinhall, and its clarity does intrigue me.

But as I mentioned before, I agree for all your points except the clarity and yellow tint issue. If installed properly, it will be like glass in clarity. You wouldnt honestly be able to tell I had a screen protector if my phones screen was on. Orange peel will always be there, but it doesn't intrude on the eye-gasmic experience. As for the yellow tint, i've never heard of it; if you can provide more info on that i'd appreciate it as I want to see also.

Also, totally agree on the friction the screen provides when swyping. However, I can swype very easily, and it would only hamper if someone were to heavily drag fingertips across the board. I can swype just as good as if I had no screen protector.

All in all, good points, and I hope we contributed to the forum experience. More information is better than none. As I noted before, the invisible shield isn't newbie friendly, but if applied with care it comes out beautifully.

Damn, I wrote so much about a screen protector, lol!

So, after watching the Zagg youtube video on how easily the the
Captivate's screen scratches. I decided I once again needed a screen protector; so I did a search on amazon and found xtreme guards. For $2 your can get a screen protector (which is what I did) for $5 you can get a full body protector, so my screen protector came in today, and I gotta say I'm pretty impressed with the quality; it's easily the best screen protector in terms of material I've ever had (and I've had tons of em).the best way to describe it is like the window decals you put on your house for holidays only thinner.when installing you of course get a hard plastic installation card, and when working out the bubbles and install solution I was surprised to find the protector it's self not scratching! like so many other countless protector I've installed in the past. The instructions said it takes about 2 days for any hazeyness or bubbles from the install to go away and there's a little of both still left. The bubbles are no big deal as I expected them because I SUCK at putting these things on. However I would like the hazeyness to go away but only time will tell. Bottom line for the price these things are amazing! And if your insecure about scratches like me then you need one of these. I give it my kick ass product stamp of approval!

Sent from my crippled with Bing, Galaxy S phone.

Yes these screen protector a nice I got one for my phone had it about two months now not one scratch on it and if it does scratch in about 2 hours or so its gone kind of like a self healing skin its awesome.

But sometime when it gets oily from my finger it acts a little funny but a few rubs from my shirt tale and its all better all and all it was way worth the 3-4 Buck I spent on it oh and that was with the shipping included.

I guess the point of this thread should be this:

The stock gorilla glass isn't invincible; a screen protector should be required, no matter what brand it is from. There many listed ones but the overall consensus is that Steinheil and Reallook offer the best ease of installation and great clarity. So new users get one as soon as possible!

Anyone have experience with ghost armor? They got a kiosk ibm the mall near where I live and was curious. Apparently they will, even custom cut a skin for you like if you have an extended cover, and will install for free

Any chance they would let me send them back?
