I'm new to this Tab ecosystem...someone please tell me how to categorize them:
There's Tab A, but what does A6, A7, A8 means? newer model or screen size??
Now I have a Tab A6 7", does it mean there're A6 8" or 10" display out there?
Is the screen replacement for let say "Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0" compatible with Tab A6 7"??

The first series of Tabs were the Galaxy Tab through the Tab 4 and Tab Pro. After that, the naming convention changed to three different series. E is the low-end series, A is the middle, and S is the high-end. In some cases, the letter is followed by a number. S-series Tabs started out with the S, then S2 and most recent S3. In some parts of the world, A-series Tabs have a number after the letter which seems to correspond to the year the Tab was released, but in North America (possibly elsewhere as well) they're just called "Tab A" with the year in parentheses. The last number in the name (other than the year) is almost always the screen size, and the ones I'm aware of are 7.0, 8.0, 8.4, 9.6, 9.7 and 10.1.

If you're going to look for parts you want to find the model number of the tablet. For example, my "Tab A 10.1 (2016)" is known as a "Tab A6 10.1" in some parts of the world, but either way the model number is SM-T580 so that's what I'd use to find parts. The "Tab A6 7.0" or "Tab A 7.0 (2016)" is a SM-T280.

See the Wikipedia entry here for a more thorough explanation.
