Screen rotation with 3rd party launchers

After installing NovaLauncher and Apex and have found both are unable to auto-rotate the desktops. Once in an app or menu, the display rotates. Has anyone seen this? I have used NovaLauncher for years now and I've never seen the app behave badly, so I am guessing there is something happening between EMUI and the launcher. I am running EMUI5 on my P10+ and everything runs perfectly. Totally stumped... Is there a setting somewhere that needs to be enabled? Just to be clear, the default launcher works 100% fine. Thanks for reading :)

Did you try to enable Auto Rotation in Nova Settings->Look&Feel->Screen Orientation?

For me it works on Default, maybe setting this to auto-rotate fixes your issue.

It could also happen because Nova sees your tablet as a phone, as many other apps do. Setting the Screen density in developer options to 711 or higher(my current setting, some lower values may also work) also fixes this.
