Which version? I'm on version 8.2.623924-release AA on my unrooted Pixel 6 Pro with no issues. In the past I've had to start playing music from an app like Spotify and then go back to screen to auto and sound would be working again.

Netflix does not work anyway (you can try a setting in S2A, something like Experimental for Netflix or so, but it didn't help to me)
You can have Netflix in S2A, you can open Netflix but at the moment you try watching, it will not go to the head-unit in the car

For those who have S2A working - did you upgrade from Android 10/ 11 to 12/ 13? For those who do not have S2A working consistently - did your phone come with Android 11+?
From what I have experimented, if you have S2A working on Android 10 and are UPGRADING to 11/ 12/ 13 - it works. If you clean install (say LOS) or factory reset and set things up, it doesn't.
This is independent of manufacturers or devices.

Xperia 1 mk I, Android 11, without root. The phone was restored to factory settings. Screen2auto, Fermat, Carstream works without reservations. Installed by AAAD and AAEASE. However, on the second phone with Root Xperia XZ1 it works definitely better.
My Pixel 6 Pro came with Android 12. Never had an issue with S2A working. Unrooted.
One question, now that I got S2A working on Android Auto.

For me I install S2A with AA AIP Tweak and turn AA in dev mode. Reboot my phone and it's work.
I tried installing it, but every time I want to patch AA, AA does not load and crashes.
After a few tries, even play store is affected and does not load anymore.
I am on a rooted Lineageos with microg.
What can I do to make AA and play store work again? It's a really weird consequence.
Edit: I can also not access whatsapp anymore. It asks me to set up my profile again but that doesn't work. It keeps asking for my phone number. I think it's an issue with my google profiles somehow. What a mess.

Anyone have the new AA with Coolewalk, looks like Apple Carplay? Wondering if S2A still works. also, not sure if you have to be in the Android Auto beta or can just install the APK.

I use tasker profile to rotate 90 deg when auto android is engaged (enter criteria), and then an exit task to turn off fixed rotation once Android Auto is disengaged (exit criteria).
No wait time for my solution.
Also will definitely give thumbs up for the new AAAIO Tweaker (Shmykelsa)! Works great!

Play Protect can be turned off, but I just would like to know the root cause (e.g. is screen2auto actually harmful? Or is this expected behavior for a screen mirroring app through unauthorized means) -

Installation and setup:

4. Launch the application and perform the initial setup of permission recovery. Click on the button and save them.5. Make the necessary settings as desired.
Warning:
If, after turning off the smartphone or exiting AA (turned off the car, closed the emulator, removed the USB), the resolution of the smartphone did not return to its original state (the recovery settings, failure, smartphone features, etc. were set incorrectly, etc.), you need go to Settings → Reset settings and select the WM SIZE RESET option. Resolution will be restored to factory.

9The only way (similar method from the Fermata player thread) I found to overcome the problem for now is:
- Use Android Auto version 7.0.614104 (tried v7.1.614554, it does not work in any way).
- Rename the Screen2Auto app v3.6.2 (change the ru.inceptive.screentwoauto name) with Lucky Patcher or any other rename apk app.
- Uninstall the original Screen2Auto and install the renamed one.
- Enable Unknown Sources on AA and patch/add the newly renamed app to AA with AA IO Tweaker as you normally would.
I tried turning off/on the car, disconnected and rebooted the phone, Screen2Auto hasn't disappeared yet.6
Lucky Patcher actually calls it "Cloning".
There are also other apps like ApkRenamer and Apk Editor Pro, but haven't tried them.
