How did you install Screen2Auto?

Easiest way that works with both of my non-rooted phones is to install AAEASE, then open it and install Screen2Auto. If this is what you already did, you might try uninstalling, Android, Auto and screen to auto and starting over, making sure to give all permissions to screen to auto app.

Wasn't clear from your posting but you have to open screen to auto on the phone first and give it permissions before you can use it through Android Auto. Waze is still not going to work in your case though, that's apparently due to Android 8.

I have used this procedure, but I don't see Screen2Auto in Android Auto. I'm mainly concerned with Waze, everything else works. With Android 8 is there no chance? In Android Auto 7.7 everything worked, but here you can't use it because of force update from Google.

Bound to happen eventually. That's a 6 year old operating system.

The problem is that the Galaxy S7 Edge is not upgradable to at least Android 10: Lineage no longer supports it since Android 7!

Does anyone have a solution to switch ROMs with Android 10 and Google Apps?

I have reinstalled the application, but it strikes me that after executing it, the wizard does not open where it requested all the necessary permissions. (opens as if all permissions were already set, but they are not) Does this happen to anyone else? Thanks

I think that's related to Android / Play Store suddenly seeing it as a malicious application.

Anyone else seeing this? Thought it was a false positive, but Play Store seems pretty insistent on that it's malicious.

Play Protect can be turned off, but I just would like to know the root cause (e.g. is screen2auto actually harmful? Or is this expected behavior for a screen mirroring app through unauthorized means)

I guess because Google rates every app not installed through Google Play Store as harmful...

I have many apps not installed through Playstore and they don't trigger Play Protect issues

But that's the purpose of Play Protect, Google can always blacklist some apps

I don't use S2A anymore but I have no problems with Fermata

Weird that I don't have this issue on my unrooted Pixel 6 Pro on Android 12.
My Play Store is version 34.0.12-21 [0] [PR] 500233025.

Is this an Android 13 issue? I do see that Play Protect Service can be disabled in Settings/Apps or even Uninstalled in the Play Store, would this help at all?

I've used Android since the HTC Hero(2009) and have never had a malware issue. That said, I suppose you could install something like Malwarebytes. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.malwarebytes.antimalware

i have the solution for screen2auto on unrooted phone
1. instal the basic version of android auto (If android auto is part of andoid system, is necessary uninstall all upgrades in fact andoid auto goes back to version 1)
2.install aaad and then all apps you want for android auto
3. install the latest version of android auto
4.disable playprotect
all works again. on galaxy s22 ultra
