Screen2Auto - New app for AA smartphone mirroring (only for root devices).

Just going to chime in that I have a Moto G Stylus running android 11 (Non rooted). Installed via AAAD and when I click on the icon in Android Auto, I get the launcher. When I click on any app I also get the black screen.

Seems to be vendor or android-version specific

Hi guys, I have installed this app in three different rooted phones (Xperia 5 II, One Plus 8 and Xiaomi Mi 11), I dont' know why but when I close the app, Xperia 5 II and One Plus reboot by themselves, Xiaomi Mi11 has no problem, some one have the same issue?

Ask for a couple of improvement:

S2a Launcher: sort icon + hide icon

Quick Launcher listbox: sort application + search application by name.

Ask for support: xiaomi mi 10t pro not rooted sometime screencast not start. I've disabled all battery optimization for app, given all permission, given the app the permission to start automatically. Do you have any hint?

Just a thought as I had this issue with my note 10+ when I first started. If you leave the settings to dim your phone you may not see the allow recording popup that comes up when you launch the app from the launcher. I wish there was a way to remember this option. Sometimes I see this on the headunit but more often than not it's only on the phone and you get black screen until you allow it. I had to tell s2a not to dim my screen on my phone. Maybe S2A could not dim until it get told it's allowed to stream?

I've managed to get s2a working on my non rooted s20 ultra. Installed via AAAD. As others have said the phone screen dims and you have to select start screen recording.

Once done on the s2a applications screen on your AA head unit swipe to the right a few times, past the clock and notifications. There are some settings toggles at the top. Click on s2a start and it changes to paused. Just press again to start and you will see your phone screen on the AA unit. Touch even works albeit a bit hit and miss. Also crashes if you try to do too much things but have shortcuts setup to favourite apps. I personally use Torque with no problems. Sorry can't do screenshots yet but if someone needs Will be able to provide later.

I have install in a nexus-5x many custom roms, lineage etc.. With android auto there are problems. Some times it does work everything ok until some day Google changes something in gaps and something stopping working.
I installed a nougat rom based to original, debloated it to the limit just to have android auto working and some more others i need. It is best way...
You don't actually gain anything upgrading to android 10, at least for android mirroring. In older versions like nougat, mirroring works better.

Was your Nexus 5X blod patched? I assume if it wasn't then a BLOD patched one wouldn't stand a chance at running this.

Did you ever get this working? I just downloaded it and can’t get the knob to do much of anything.

I tried s2echo option but not work. The phone connected ti USB use the hotspot of the other One. I flagged the option of s2echo and selected the wifi name.

I have installed screen2auto and it works flawless except for one thing and that's navigation within opened apps.
When I open for example Netflix it doesn't let me scroll the page but directly opens the link/video you just tapped when you actually wanted to scroll down.
Only way to navigate is to go back to my phone. This isn't the case in the app itself when you browe your apps but only in the opened app on your car screen.
Any solution for this?

I actually have seen that streaming permission and click start but still do not end up seeing anything on my head unit.

So I just found this, use at your own risk, you are granting this app permission to start screen recording without prompting. No root required.

adb shell appops set ru.inceptive.screentwoauto PROJECT_MEDIA allow

I just tested this on my Note 10+ running android 10 and there are no more prompts to allow recording when you start s2a.

to undo it:
adb shell appops set ru.inceptive.screentwoauto PROJECT_MEDIA ignore

Again, I'm just giving you the command, whether you trust s2a is up to you.

Lorsque j'ouvre par exemple Netflix, cela ne me permet pas de faire défiler la page mais ouvre directement le lien / la vidéo que vous venez d'appuyer lorsque vous vouliez réellement faire défiler vers le bas.
La seule façon de naviguer est de revenir à mon téléphone. Ce n'est pas le cas dans l'application elle-même lorsque vous accédez à vos applications, mais uniquement dans l'application ouverte sur l'écran de votre voiture.
Une solution pour ça?

hello, to be able to scroll through the netflix menu I uninstall the beta version of S2A and download version 3.4.6 ... because it works perfectly. hope it will be the same for you.

I installed Screen2Auto on an unrooted phone using the script from the Inceptive.ru website. There are a few glitches but it works overall.

Would Screen2Auto work better on an unrooted phone if I used AAAD to install it?

Also, since I've installed Screen2Auto using the script from the Inceptive.ru website, can I just update Screen2Auto and have it work? Or do I need to install an updated version using the script?

All AAAD does on a non rooted is make it show in AA, if you ran the adb command and it worked then that's it. Cant speak to how the update will work.
