Without AIO Tweaker I didn't have S2A icon in the AA screen
I could Unpatch Custom apps (only S2A) in AIO Tweaker and reboot, but how could I then run S2A from the infotainment?
JUst by opening S2A from the phone?
Tried the xposed module to disable flag secure and yes it doesn't work on android 12, i hope someone will find a way somedayIt sucks cos on my old phone the custom had Disable flag_secure and it allowed screenshotting in any app. Also when I used to use s2a and AA it worked fine with Netflix and Amazon prime video. On my new phone I don't think this option can be enabled.
Maybe you used AAAD (root not required) and/or you have an old version of AA and/or Google Play Services
Anyway, no chance for me to have S2A icon without patching.
And there is no problem in AIO Tweaker/patching:
- It makes S2A enabled and I can start it from AA
- From S2A I can click on any of the apps I selected for S2A, apps (like YT, Music, Video) start playing on the phone and even audio goes over the car speakers, but apps do not 'project' to the AA
I tried even with an older S2A Beta v3.5 (somebody suggested me) but the same as with the latest v3.6.2
I'll check if I could see anything from the logs - if not, I'll uninstall S2A, no luck (most important is that official AA works properly)
Still no one has solution for full screen YouTube videos ? If yes can u please show us step by step guide
Giving up with S2A, tried different versions, different set-ups, always the same as described above
Btw, I tried also AAMirror - I can also patch it by AIO Tweaker to show in Android Auto, but when i open it, I cannot make it to 'project' to car (similarly as with S2A, audio plays through the car speakers but video does not display to infotainment)
However, CarTube works flawlessly: I also patched by AIO Tweaker to show in AA, and when I open CarTube, it plays (of course, YT only) and projects video to the car with no issues
Videos on YouTube aren't playing Fullscreen tried all options of screen but still the same
So for me Screen2Auto vanished from AA completely.
Even reinstalling didn't help.
I will check Google play Services today in the evening and try to get it back.

Same thing happened to me a couple days ago. Was working fine, then got in the car and poof... Gone. I've tried everything I can think of to get it back, rolled back AA version, still no luck. I did check and AA auto updated on 11/29, but I'm almost positive I didn't see the issue until 12/2 or 12/3..
Did a quick fix while in the car. Clear storage or reinstall Android auto and it came back.... Haven't had the time to figure out why yet
I have exact same issue. Always worked, didn't update. Its on the phone which stays in the care. Automatic updates turned off. It just magically stopped working today just after midnight.
Google Play Services = com.google.android.gms are not controlled by Google Play Auto Update On/Off - it applies only to the apps. Btw what is your version - 21.42.58?

Update: I could revert to the old Google Play Services. Afterwards, Screen2Auto apperead again in the app list of Android Auto on the phone. Unfortunately, Android Auto stopped working with the old Google Play Services. Moreover, after 10 minutes Google Play Services autoupdated again and I was in the same situation as before. So right now there is no solution. Let's hope for a quick fix.

Same here. Works in car, then doesn't work next time I drive(no S2A icon.) Uninstall then reinstall AA and it works again. What's causing this?
Still on Google Play Services 21.26.21 and AA 7.0.614103, haven't updated either recently.

I guess, Google sends us some updates through the backdoor. What I noticed, whatever I do to revert to an older version of Google Play Services, it takes a couple of minutes and the app size gets bigger and bigger.
The most crazy thing about all Google's policy is that I use Android Auto with Screen2Auto for my Fensens bluetooth parking sensors without having to take my phone into my hands.
Now I have to take my phone into my hands to see the parking sensor app. For me it was less driver distraction with Screen2Auto. Unfortunately there is no official AA version from Fensens as Google did not open all their APIs...

I can confirm after complete uninstall AA and installation back directly in the car, both S2A a AAMirror are working Pixel 5

So I still have s2a working on non root samsung 23 ultra Android 13. I noticed Fermata Auto was missing from AA and decided to reinstall from AAAD app,
There is a new version of Fermato auto (1.99 version) and it also has 2 mirroring apps and it works quite well on Android 13. I think its easier to use than s2a and the phone screen dims unlike in s2a.1
Ty for your reply, i missed the update of fermato. After updating The mirror apps are visable in AA. Will try it in my MBenz (mbux) tomorrow. Cheers

Application features:
- The main reason for creating this application is working with Android 9 Pie
1. Сompletely new application combining AAMirror & AAStream features.

Installation and setup:
1. Download and Install Screen2Auto
2. Enable developper settings in Android Auto and enable Unkown sources in developper settings.3. Use the AA AIO TWEAKER from @shmykelsa for activation third-party applications.
4. Launch the application and perform the initial setup of permission recovery. Click on the button and save them.5. Make the necessary settings as desired.
Warning:
If, after turning off the smartphone or exiting AA (turned off the car, closed the emulator, removed the USB), the resolution of the smartphone did not return to its original state (the recovery settings, failure, smartphone features, etc. were set incorrectly, etc.), you need go to Settings → Reset settings and select the WM SIZE RESET option. Resolution will be restored to factory.

To my knowledge following levels of restrictions/by-passes exist:
1. Developer mode + unknown sources need to be enabled in the AA app,
you can tap the Version number in the AA app a lot, to unlock the developer settings.
2. Apps need to be "installed as Google Play",
you can use KingInstaller to do so: https://github.com/fcaronte/KingInstaller
3. Apps need to be "whitelisted in phenotype.db",
you can use AA-AIO-Tweaker for this: https://github.com/shmykelsa/AA-Tweaker
4. Apps need Xposed module to spoof an additional "installed as Google Play" check,

5. Apps (for now only Screen2Auto to my knowledge) need their internal package name changed to something different,
you can use MT Manager for this: https://mt2.cn/download/
Open MT Manager => Open S2A.apk file => View => AndroidManifest.xml => String pool => Triple dot icon => Filter =>
Type the package name of the app (likely "ru.cvitnepei.neatruwtosceo" or "ru.inceptive.screentwoauto") => Ok
=> Select the found package name (likely "ru.cvitnepei.neatruwtosceo" or "ru.inceptive.screentwoauto")
=> Alter it to something unique, don't tell your unique package name online => Ok => Back arrow => Save and exit
=> Save AndroidManifest.xml modification + Auto sign => Ok

9The only way (similar method from the Fermata player thread) I found to overcome the problem for now is:
- Use Android Auto version 7.0.614104 (tried v7.1.614554, it does not work in any way).
- Rename the Screen2Auto app v3.6.2 (change the ru.inceptive.screentwoauto name) with Lucky Patcher or any other rename apk app.
- Uninstall the original Screen2Auto and install the renamed one.
- Enable Unknown Sources on AA and patch/add the newly renamed app to AA with AA IO Tweaker as you normally would.
I tried turning off/on the car, disconnected and rebooted the phone, Screen2Auto hasn't disappeared yet.
