I start the webtop with the tethering apn active and when it says validating I turn on wifi and let out connect then disconnect wifi and it works fine on 3g

Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk
Does that even work when there's no WIFI hotspot available where your wifi can connect to ? I mean that's my whole reason trying to utilize my Atrix' 3G/3.5G connection for the webtope, BECAUSE there's no WIFI available :D

Or am I misunderstanding something now ?

I just ran this script and it worked great... but speedtests showed that my speed has drastically decreased. It is even worse than pre 1.8.3 speed. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

It could also be something AT&T is doing in my area so I'm not sure. I forgot to ran a speed test immediately before doing this. My guess is that it has nothing to do with this script but I wanted to see if anyone else is seeing issues.

I noticed that a couple of newly purchased apps downloaded were slower download-speeds, but that may be the back-end of the apps vendors.

EDIT: can you switch APN's on the fly, or do you have to reboot every time you switch APNs ?

This doesn't really do anything outside adding an APN for you, so you don't have to type it manually. It doesn't even enable it, so any changes you're seeing in connection speed is a placebo effect and is caused by something else.

Thanks, Ririal. That's what I figured. Tethering is working great! Time to give AT&T a call to see why the towers near me are crapping out.

My default APN before is AT&T US HSDPA. Am I suppose to leave it at that and change it to the "custom tethering" before I use hotspot and change it back? Or can I just leave it at "custom tethering"?

Thanks for this.
4.1.83, rooted with Gingerbreak.exe
Tip for noobs, Windows XP after unzipping/unraring the file it will create a subfolder with the apps/files in it. Cut/paste the files back up to the main C/: level and delete the subfolder or it will fail. Also, while running the bat file use capital Y/N or you will get permission denied message (at least I did using lowercase letters). Otherwise instructions are spot on.

I am trying on my AT&T Sony Xperia X10a.
I am getting the error:
/data/local/tmp/gladenable.sh: not found

I got a few screens in and it asked me if I wanted to enable sideloading, I put y....

then failed on APN loading too.

Then rebooted my phone....

EDIT
Now Plants & Zombies Works.......
ok nevermind I guess!

Interesting. Good to know it works on other non-Atrix devices as well ;)

The script unfortunately did not work on my MB860.

/system/bin/su: not found

Also didn't receive any superuser requests on the device, the only part of the script that worked for me was the reboot.
