Hi, i have just installed Rom Cleaner and i did a back up of my files. I want to ask a stupid question now. How do i enter again in rom cleaner to remove bloatware. Do i have to reinstall it from the Philz touch recovery everytime i want to enter in the application? The application is not installed anywhere. Do i have to enter again in recovery mod and choose install zip from my external sd card everytime i want to enter the application? Thanks in advance.

According to this post do i have to manually remove any files? I am on a stock kit kat rom. I did a wipe partition and dalvik cache before performing the rom clean installation txt file. Thanks in advance.First off, great work @fAiLOfax!
In this post you will find a ROMCleaner_user.txt based on the app removal list found in this thread: I9505 Ultimate BLOATWARE (remove) List deBLOAT Android 4.3 OFFICIAL (ROOT required!)
It's basically just a copy/paste. All I did was to add correct paths and syntax so it would work with ROM Cleaner.
Side note: ROM Cleaner will wipe dalvik-cache automatically.
It will also remove odex files for all removed apps.
And regarding /data/data/app.folders, you really shouldn't need to remove them manually or with a script because android will handle that during the boot process. (check /data/system/uiderrors.txt.)
And if you are following our recommendations and remove apps before first boot /data/data content will not exist...

ROM Cleaner will handle everything. No need to wipe or remove anything manually or within recovery.
No idea, but I'm pretty sure that you will make a backup in recovery and give it a try.

I searched in Root Explorer, other than the RogersAppZone_v1.0.20.2.apk under the app folder; there are also thousands of related data file, and some more related apk file in system/csc/ folder. Do I have to add every single one of those file on your script in order to delete this program? Or simply just RogersAppZone_v1.0.20.2.apk will be good enough?

Huge thanks for this. been using it on my non-rooted stock uk h3g (NC5) firmware (deodoxed) to remove bloatware and it's worked a treat. battery life a little better with all the cloud sync etc removed, and using this method to customize the system i don't have to root and lose the ability to use apps like sky go and 4od.
bit confused about the secondboot folder though. I understand that we can add mods in there? but what sort of things are we talking about? is that for theme mods and stuff, and if so, what is the difference between using this and just flashing mods directly through recovery?

Hi, Newbie posting here for the first time. Our family has multiple Evo 4G (Sprint) phones. Yeah, I know, they are dinosaurs, but they still work. Just curious if this technique could clean out the bloatware on this phone to gain more memory. Non-rooted, running Gingerbread.
Again, I'm a newbie and I've looked through multiple pages here. Could you direct me to the download and the instructions I would need for these older phones?

Wrong thread.... You need root and simply install titanium backup one you root and remove whatever you want.... But Youll get more help in your own phones forum

Initially when we added FirstBoot and SecondBoot folders we simply extracted mod zips to one of the folders and removed META-INF folder from extracted files. For example if you have themed apks then you can flash multiple mods in one go.
But lots of things have been going on since then, AROMA Installer, xposed, vrtheme etc.
With other words, not all mods can be flashed like before.
Now days I use it to install some scripts and sometimes system apps.

Now, the only issue I'm facing is Google Contacts Sync Error. All others are syncing fine.
I get an occasional error message "Unfortunately the process android.process.acore has stopped.
I've tried it with various combinations of #s wondering if I was deleting some Google sync files. But to no avail. Still same issue.
The apks I thought were the problem, but not the problem are - GoogleFeedBack.apk, FixmoISA.apk, some /lib/xsync-keygen.so
Attached latest ROMCleaner.txt on a clean install of ROM. Please advise. Thank you.

I see you remove Gmail application.
Have you disabled syncing under Accounts > Google > Account '[email protected]'

Nope, all sync check-boxes are checked. Tried toggling, also clearing Data of Contacts Storage in Settings.
It seems to be some important apk I have deleted.
Ah, now I remember.
Please type that "Unfortunately..." Message in Google, you will get tons of info about how to fix it.
Unless I remember wrong this is something related to corrupted contacts database.
