Primary mod is for Primary boot. Default primary boot was CM7, so I'm assuming you formatted /system1 & /data1 before flashing?

Could you also unzip the contents of the converted gapps zip. And check the updater script. All /system variables should be /system1.

-Racks
Since the primary and secondary partitions are set up specifically for CM7 and CM9, I'm not sure that it was made clear that updates have to be installed in their proper place. Is there some specific procedure that needs to be used if someone decides that they want to put CM9 or MUIU on the primary boot or can/should that even be tried?

I didn't format anything before flashing. I thought this as an upgrade, so after conversion I just proceed to flashing.
Finally, I flashed your own gapps that you have at your dualboot topic and now everything is back to normal.
Unfortunately, even after this upgrade, I still continue to deal with FC issues of mail, Facebook and of other random apps.I think there is some problem with my card and CM9, since CM7 runs perfect from emmc or from same mem card.

Are you instlaling CM9 to Primary boot or Alternate Boot here? If it is for Primary boot... you need to format /system1 & /data1 before flashing. Reason being is the default for the DualbootSD Image was CM7 on Primary / CM9 on Alternate.

You can't just flash CM9 over a CM7 install. There have been many updates to source from CM7 to CM9 on how the filesystem is handled. Have you tried as suggested?

When moving between different ROMS, it is recommended to format /system1 & /data1 for primary or /system2 & /data2 for alternate.

I was following your logic, so only CM9 at alternate boot'.

Just installed nightly 28.4 without Opengl and then gapps which appeared in the folder Primary Mod after conversion.
After that I cant get inside shop.I click to open it and it gets me back to main menu.
Any ideas?Reflashing of gapps didnt work.
What I think RASTAVIPER was saying here is the same thing I noticed. When converting gapps for alternate boot using option 3 in the convert menu, the modified gapps shows up in the "Primary-Mod" directory with the name "gapps_DualbootSD_alternate_01-05-12.zip". Running option 2 for primary boots puts the modified gapps in the "Primary-Mod" directory as well, with the name "gapps_DualbootSD_primary_01-05-12.zip"

The /system variables are correct per the conversion option selected, so it's just a matter of the output file being in "Primary-Mod" when the alternate boot conversion is selected.

The output name is also misleading...I used "gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip" as the input file and got "gapps_DualbootSD_alternate_01-05-12.zip" as the output. I can easily rename if I choose, but is there any chance the output file can more closely match the input file name?

Just some observations to hopefully help improve this already awesome tool.

Thank you for your input. Your feedback is greatly appeciated. ;)

I've noticed the error. Its been corrected for next update. Also will take filename structure into consideration as well. Next update by this Sunday hopefully. :)

Thanks again for the feedback everyone!

Is the converted Gapps working for you?For me I had to try Racks first version of ICS_gapps or else couldnt have it running.
Also I continue to get random errors connected with gapps.

There should be an update out sometime today/this evening... Racks has been working hard on it... look for DRASTIC speed improvements. If I can get in touch with him today... I have another idea for him too ;)

Except speed (which is always welcome), will there be any system optimisation?
Can't wait to try it anyway!! :)

Yes, they worked fine, for the most part. Or at least as well as the original gapps. I did this because I as having major issues with the android market using the gapps in the triple boot thread. It wouldn't update to play store, and it wouldn't download anything. I didn't really have anything on the CM9 boot since I couldn't get any of my apps to download, so I wiped /system2 and /data2 then installed the latest CM9 again from the triple boot thread, then installed the newly converted gapps.

Unfortunately, after doing this I still couldn't download any apps from the play store. I did get an actual error number this time, however (921). Did some digging around and found that I could get it working by clearing data in both the Google Play Store and in Google Services Framework. Now it works, but is ridiculously slow. It took probably 5 hours to download the kindle app last night and has been chugging for several hours this morning downloading the nook app. CM9 itself is a little sluggish, but not too bad considering. It's just the download speed issue that will kill this ROM for me if I can't figure it out. I haven't tried a web download to see if this is just related to the Play store, or something else. If someone reading this knows what's going on, I'm all ears...

This tool is only for converting ROM's and Gapps for use in Racks' Dualboot configuration... I don't believe him or I currently have plans for optimization.

I have a DOS version working, and Racks and I are formulating the consolidation of the systems.

However, once we get everything ironed out, GUI for linux and Windows... I will also be including this in the IMEI Generator.

But, for now we are working hard on getting this unified between all platforms.

Convert2Dualboot-SD v1.2 is UP!

DOS version now available thanks to DizzyDen! Also have a question as to wether an option to MOD for EMMC alternate boot is wanted?

Please read changelog in post 3 for more info on updates.

Thanks,
Racks

Guys there is a problem with updating ICS gapps.
although converting successfully latest gapps, flashing them doesn't work, as I still get version 4.0.1 for my google framework and the latest is 4.0.4.
Racks can you try to create gapps zip ?

Two questions for you... can you post link to the gapps you are using... or upload your's and link it for me so I can look at it....

Also... are you flashing both ROM and gapps at the same time... or ROM... booting... letting settle... flash gapps?

Gapps is the latest from eyeballer :29.04.2012
First time.Install converted ROM then boot into system, check and then reboot and install of gapps.
Second time, after some days flashed again.
Never got any message for problems.

from the other thread... I think you're doing this on device using the Android app?

Have you downloaded the newest version?

Also, are you converting primary or alternate?
