Alright guys.

My SD Card seems to be full of folders that I have no clue what they're for or why they've been created. Im just about to install a fresh ROM to my phone & was wondering can I just go ahead of format my SD card (after I've backed up my photos etc.) and everything will be as good as new?

Cheers

Those kind of folders?

Lots of programs save their settings and data on the card, so when you load a new ROM, are you planning to restore settings and data from somewhere or start completely from scratch?

Nah, I know those folders are standard, Im talking about things like:

MXBROWSER
PDV_LOG
QUICK START GUIDE
SAFETY GUIDE
SPEEDSOFTWARE
TUNNYBROWSER
TAPATALKXDAPRE_DOWNLOAD

I appreciate all these things are folders created by App's I've installed at some point throughout the life of my phone, but I would be nice if I could just clean off everything & start from scratch...

I know what I'm doing with my phone in respect to what apps I want etc now. So I wont be installing any old crap if you see what I mean...

Thank you

As long as your not restoring apps with titanium or similar just go ahead a format won't make much difference mind, they'll all be back in a week or 2 lol

I don't tend to bother unless there is a real reason to format your sd

Sent from my CM7 Sensation XE using xda premium :)

Gotcha. MXBROWSER is Maxthon Browser, SPEEDSOFTWARE could be a number of things - Root Explorer created the folder on mine. TAPATALKXDA is the XDA app (based on the Tapatalk app).
