Question SD Native call recording & CSC (without rooting)

Hi everyone,

Looking for some insight and more educated projections.

I'm in Canada, and our phones (SD) typically didn't get native call recording (or any recording allowed as a matter of fact after Pie was rolled out). I had to purchase a phone from overseas (EXY) and load it with IND CSC for it to work.

Now that India, along with Thailand and most of the other countries that have native call recording enabled, would that mean phones purchased in Canada could have it activated by changing CSC as well?

I understand this is new territory and has never happened before, but I'm just wondering what the thoughts are, or if anyone of you are influencers who already have your hands on a phone sold in the US/Canada can test it out?

I used to flash Indonesia firmware through ODIN and native call recording was perfect in my S21 ultra EUR version. Now ,in S22 ultra with EUX csc (SM-S908B) Im wondering if we can flash Indonesia CSC because I don't know if it is another firmware belonging to SM-S908E versions of s22 ultra.

same for me.
BUT seems like indonesia now uses snapdragon (SM-908E) so (i think) it is not compatible with our eur (i'm in italy OXM) phone.
maybe one of the csc listed here

Hello, Thanks to this XDA thread and some other sources I was able to compile a list of CSC codes that enable native call recording on Samsung ROMs. This is the list: Indonesia (XID) Vietnam (XXV) Ukraine (SEK) Israel (ILO) India (INS) Thailand...

Although it is very early as the phone didn't contribute all over the world, it seems that many of the countries which had csc with call recording permissions will take snapdragon version (SM-S908E). F.e . Indonesia, Thailand, India.
This is very sad for the rest of us who have exynos version..
Since now, even Samkey supports s22 ultra for changing CSC..
We will see..

I'm wondering if it's just band differences for the different SD models because most if not all of the hardware should be the same across the board with the SD variants?

I guess we'll find out soon. I really prefer to get a phone locally in Canada as opposed to having a 908E shipped here...

Check what CSC got now. Maybe EUX - this is a multi-CSC so you don't have to install firmware, just change CSC with samkey.
To check the CSC dial a code on your device’s dialer itself. code to dial is *#1234#.

Good news! So SEK (Ukraine) CSC has native call recording . Did you just flash the SEK firmware through ODIN (the SEK firmware can be found to sammobile)? Or you use Samkey (although Samkey says that s22 ultra is not supported yet). Please , let us know 😀

I think that odin doesn't work because sek csc is included in oxm multi-csc so, using home_csc, simply has no effect

Does this operation reset the phone? i would like to don't re-install and re-configure all my stuff.

    Samsung miss to authorised their ...WE1 in Google Play Protect. (Happens many times with a lot of devices. First time on my Note20 I write and call Samsung... until any understood and answer me the next firmware comes.)

    Options:
    Wait Samsung to release next firmware ...WEx (x>1) or ...WFx

    Downgrade via ODIN (AP, BL, CP, HOME_CSC) to ...WD3 (and turn of temporary OTA updates).

    P. S.
    Nothing other helps (delete, uninstall, even factory reset on this firmware), just firmware did not pass GPP. The chance Google to reauthiorize it is small than Samsung to push the next firmware.

    after I updated google play store to the latest version( google play store->settings->about )

    and also updated the google play system with the latest (wasn't available 2 days ago)
    (settings->about phone->software information-> google play sistem update)

    I have the phone now as certified with WE1 :D

    If question is to me.
    I keep several older SamFw versions.
    3.31 is the latest that works without internet (blocked internet access)
    Still shows a problem on Virus Total but no problem found several months usage.

    Because you didn't learn enough about telegram. In order not to compress it you need to sent as a file, then choose gallery and then the picture. Zero compression.

    This is a usa model. There are no csc in the rom that enable call recording.
    For that you buy the international model, but then you may have problems with the frequencies.

    At the moment call recoring:
    S22 (SM-S901x), S22+ (SM-G906x) and S22 Ultra (SM-G908x)
    * is model 1, 6 or 8
    x is region (the region have several CSCs)

    SM-S90*B (europe) - Exynos - via Samkey (paid) to SEK, INS
    SM-S90*E (asia) - Snapdragon - via Samkey (paid) to XXV, THL, ILO (or via ODIN (free) flash to XID)
    SM-S90*U (us) - Snapdragon - no CSC with call recording
    SM-S90*U1 (us) - Snapdragon - no CSC with call recording
    SM-S90*W (canada) - Snapdragon - no CSC with call recording
    SM-S90*N (china) - Snapdragon - no CSC with call recording
    SM-S90*0 (korea) - Snapdragon - no CSC with call recording

    For SM-S908E (SnapDragon):
    XID is SingleCSC and do not exist in MultiCSC, so can not be changed/switched by Samkey.
    The only option to change CSC to XID is flashing with ODIN. If flash with files: BL_, AP_, CP_ and HOME_CSC_ - it will not reset (with CSC_ instead of HOME_CSC_ phone will be factory reset)
    XID:
    - have call record,
    - do not have Samsung Pay (it have SPay but it is an Infonesian custom version with their local banks only, can not be changed with international SPay)
    - do not have internal spam, but can be used Hiya app (from PlayStore for any CSC)


    These CSC are from MultyCSC - all CSC are inside the firmware - and can be switched/chaged via Samkey at the moment (methods with local SIM, modded theme, Dialer code are fixed and not work long time ago, combination firmware works but no available files for current bootloaders)

    INS (India) have call record, SPay and and spam
    XXV (Vietnam) have call record, SPay, no int.spam but Hiya work
    THL have call record, spam, but SPay discontinued last year
    ILO have call record, other not sure (less updated, not every month, Jewish extra security)

    All CSC installs have specific bloatware apps (some can not be uninstalled but can be disabled via PC with adb or some package disabler via phpne)

    INS is better choice for E model.

    ---

    For SM-S908B (Exynos):
    Only SEK (Ukraine) via Samkey have Call recording, no SPay, no spam, but Hiya works

    ---

    For SM-S908 U, U1, W, N, 0 (SnapDragon):
    No know/available CSCs with call recording

    Using Samkey to chage CSC to one that not exist inside the exact same (U, U1, W, N, or 0) region of MultiCSC - do nothing, just lose one Samkey credit and CSC stays same.

    Flashing U, U1, W, N, 0 device via ODIN with E firmware is NOT possible because different models (even all are SnapDragon CPUs).

    Bad news for people with S22 SM-S908B (Exynos) who used INS CSC (the one from E (snapdragon) model to have Call recorfing, anti-spam callerID and Samsung Pay.
    Until now we just make updates manually (BL, CP, AP, HOME_CSC) every month with any B FW (for example EUX) and were was up to date.

    BUT ....

    from version S908BXXU2AVH9 - Samsung removed the glitch ... so no more INS for B model ... CSC returns to EUX (or original CSC) and call recording, internal andti-spam callerID and Samsung Pay were gone.


    At the moment the ONLY working CSC with Call Recording is SEK (Ukraine).

    So with SEK (plus and minus):
    + Call recoeding works
    - no internal anti-spam callerID (Hiya as app can be used from playstore)
    - no SPay (the re is no working option at the meoment)
    + OTA firmware updates will work (via Setting menu).

    They write on the web that it is not supported, but it is not true. I risked it and it works! So S22u is my daily from today.

    1. Turn on the developer mod
    2. Enable usb debugging
    3. buy credit on samkey (on the web or ebay)
    4. Install SamKEY CodeReader
    5. connect the phone to the PC
    6. turn on samKEY, log in and change CSC.

    This operation didn't seem to reset my phone. But I can't guarantee it.

    I would also like to recommend the "AutoSync" application, which automatically uploads all your recorded calls to Dropbox. It all works on the S22u.

    I am using INS (Not changed CSC but I am living in India)
    No carrier bloatware except one My Galaxy. All features like GPay,SPay,S Health,Spam Call, Call Recording are working fine
    My personal opinion about CSC changing
    1.For Non Rooted device - Go with SamKey
    2.For rooted users - Instead of changing CSC just modify your own CSC file and get desired features. OR use a ROM with preactivated features
