Hello everyone.
On Tuesday I get my Galaxy S22 ultra 512gb purchased on the Samsung website and I would like to put the native call recorder but I read that it disables the S-PAY.
My question is is there any CSC that activates the recorder and S-PAY works? for me they are two indispensable functions.

Downgrade to Android 10 with ODIN (no tripping Knox), then change CSC to KOO using Samfw Tool.
Unless you're on a new firmware with build N986NKSU2.... then you're out of luck.
The reason for downgrading because Samsung blocked the CSC change exploit in newer versions for Korean devices (but not elsewhere).
I am on N986NKSU1GVJG. People say its not possible on N(korea) devices. Are you sure?
I am very sure, I used G981N (S20 Korea) before, changed to KOO with Samkey successfully 2 years ago. That guy seems knowledgable about global devices but he is spreading some misinformation about regional devices. Such as N models always have call recording (regardless of devices or CSC) or 0 (HK-China) can have call recording with China firmware (no Google though).
Later N models cannot change CSC, yes that's true, but not S20/NOTE 20 series which can downgrade to whatever firmware you want unless you update to the newest version with Bit 2 bootloader, which prevents downgrading to Bit 1 firmware. You still have Bit 1 though, so downgrading is possible.
Korean models can change CSC until somewhere around Android 11 where Samsung blocked it.
After downgrading to A10, you can change to KOO using Samfw Tool or the Google dialer method. Both are free. Then ODIN again to the latest version, CSC will always be kept unless you change again.

Do NOT update to N986NKSU2GVL3 if you still want to change CSC. You are already on the last version that still allows downgrading.
After changing to KOO you can update all you want, I guess you don't need to change again to carrier CSCs

Which S22 Ultra?
SM-S908B - No, only SEK have call recording and no SPay.
SM-S908E - Yes, INS or XXV.
SM-S908x other models U, U1, N, W, 0 - No CSC have call recording.
I just noticed that whilst I have the option to press the record button during a call, recording isn't started automatically like I've set it to do. Any ideas?
Bro, N models (Korean) always have call recording for several years. Same with latest models. I personally used a G981N (S20 Korea S865) with call recording.
For 0 models, flashing China rom (CHC) will enable call recording (no google though).
Yeah, that is already selected but I'm still having to manually start recodings.

Oh, you are on S22, right?
Only SEK have Call recording on SM-S90*B series.
My old S22 Ultra (SM-S908B) records automatic on SEK.

If you on S23 (SM-S91*B) series - then can use INS, THL, XXV, ILO, SEK

I'm glad I asked because the founder of the ACR brand is Appliqato, historically the best, and why several others have "brand leveraged" their name.Unfortunately U/ U1 devices sold in the U.S cannot be rooted at this time.

ACR (Another Call Recorder) is a free call...galaxystore.samsung.com
What matters is whether or not this, or any other app, records both sides of the conversation on an S22 or S23 U1. There is no point in going through the time, aggravation, and expense of a new phone if the result would be inferior to a 2018 Note 9 which does record both sides of the conversation. Thus, that it the question.

From Android 9 - Google was forced to restrict and ban access to the audio streams in call. Also restrict permission access to "caller's number" during incoming/outgoing call.
So varios apps try to record call via microphone, "local side" is recorderd very well, but "other side of line" is with a lower volume, noisy, need to increece the volume of the speaker(s)" in order to be sufficiently high to be captured by microphone (so people around will listen/hear whole conversation). Microphone level of caputured audio was digitaly increased (high-gain) and the environment аround noises also recorderd - some times higher than "other side voice", so need to put "speakerphone on" to capture "other side voice".

On some devices permission to use microphone as a source simultaniously during a telephone call also was forbidden. (So no record or "silence".)

The best way (except csc change for direct audio stream capture of both sides OR root where access is granted or internal call recording can be allowed for any CSC) are external bluetooth devices (bluetooth hanfdfree) with call recording function on it (with own memory) or wired (usb-c) handsfree again with own recorder.1 -

SM-S90*E (asia) - Snapdragon - via Samkey (paid) to XXV, THL, ILO (or via ODIN (free) flash to XID)
SM-S90*U (us) - Snapdragon - no CSC with call recording
SM-S90*U1 (us) - Snapdragon - no CSC with call recording
SM-S90*W (canada) - Snapdragon - no CSC with call recording
SM-S90*N (china) - Snapdragon - no CSC with call recording
SM-S90*0 (korea) - Snapdragon - no CSC with call recording9For SM-S908E (SnapDragon):
XID is SingleCSC and do not exist in MultiCSC, so can not be changed/switched by Samkey.
The only option to change CSC to XID is flashing with ODIN. If flash with files: BL_, AP_, CP_ and HOME_CSC_ - it will not reset (with CSC_ instead of HOME_CSC_ phone will be factory reset)
XID:
- have call record,
- do not have Samsung Pay (it have SPay but it is an Infonesian custom version with their local banks only, can not be changed with international SPay)
- do not have internal spam, but can be used Hiya app (from PlayStore for any CSC)
These CSC are from MultyCSC - all CSC are inside the firmware - and can be switched/chaged via Samkey at the moment (methods with local SIM, modded theme, Dialer code are fixed and not work long time ago, combination firmware works but no available files for current bootloaders)
INS (India) have call record, SPay and and spam
XXV (Vietnam) have call record, SPay, no int.spam but Hiya work
THL have call record, spam, but SPay discontinued last year
ILO have call record, other not sure (less updated, not every month, Jewish extra security)
All CSC installs have specific bloatware apps (some can not be uninstalled but can be disabled via PC with adb or some package disabler via phpne)
INS is better choice for E model.

For SM-S908 U, U1, W, N, 0 (SnapDragon):
No know/available CSCs with call recording
Using Samkey to chage CSC to one that not exist inside the exact same (U, U1, W, N, or 0) region of MultiCSC - do nothing, just lose one Samkey credit and CSC stays same.
Flashing U, U1, W, N, 0 device via ODIN with E firmware is NOT possible because different models (even all are SnapDragon CPUs).9Bad news for people with S22 SM-S908B (Exynos) who used INS CSC (the one from E (snapdragon) model to have Call recorfing, anti-spam callerID and Samsung Pay.
Until now we just make updates manually (BL, CP, AP, HOME_CSC) every month with any B FW (for example EUX) and were was up to date.
BUT ....
from version S908BXXU2AVH9 - Samsung removed the glitch ... so no more INS for B model ... CSC returns to EUX (or original CSC) and call recording, internal andti-spam callerID and Samsung Pay were gone.
At the moment the ONLY working CSC with Call Recording is SEK (Ukraine).
So with SEK (plus and minus):
+ Call recoeding works
- no internal anti-spam callerID (Hiya as app can be used from playstore)
- no SPay (the re is no working option at the meoment)
+ OTA firmware updates will work (via Setting menu).6They write on the web that it is not supported, but it is not true. I risked it and it works! So S22u is my daily from today.
1. Turn on the developer mod
2. Enable usb debugging
3. buy credit on samkey (on the web or ebay)
4. Install SamKEY CodeReader
5. connect the phone to the PC
6. turn on samKEY, log in and change CSC.
This operation didn't seem to reset my phone. But I can't guarantee it.

I would also like to recommend the "AutoSync" application, which automatically uploads all your recorded calls to Dropbox. It all works on the S22u.
