Use the code: *#0808#, Then change the USB Setting to "DM+Modem+ADB"

You can connect Note3 to the QPST.
Is there an option in the USB settings that gets rid of that damnable VZW virtual CD that pops up everytime I plug the phone into the computer? (Or any ideas how to get rid of it? I've tried searching.)

Hey there,

I followed these instructions but I am not able to bring up the service menu.

I have a Note 3, with KK 4.4.2. I have tried to root it with towel root, both versions, and I suppose it didnt root it after all because when I place any of those codes in I get nothing.

I installed ES file explorer and I am not able to see the hidden menus. Even after enabling "show hidden files" and "root explorer".

Any ideas or ways that I can successfully root this device? It seems every time I find a file that says it can root it there is another messages saying it cant root N900V with KK 4.4.2.

Thanks for listening.

Where are you looking? Do you have a \efs directory (some file explorers show it as /efs)

In it, do you have a "carrier" directory?

And in that directory do you have a file named HiddenMenu?

And did you edit that file to change OFF to ON (it must be all caps)?

Then did reboot your phone after saving that file?

Using different file explorers I searched for each of the file names and had no success. I found no directories with those names at all. Hidden or otherwise. I used something called Towelroot but it didn't allow me access to root menus using the # sign or present any file names like you mention in this discussion here.

Not having good luck at all.

Those are not "hidden" directories. They are NOT on the sd card. The are from the root internal directory. It does not require root to find then, only to edit the one file.

You're doing something wrong.

That was the answer. It WASNT on the SD card. I didn't know it gave me the option at the top.

The good news, your advice worked. The bad news is I am still stuck with a phone on H+.

However, thank you!

H+ is because of the carrier. You plan may not permit LTE even if T-Mobile had it in your area.
