Securing my Web Browsing on my Nexus One

Hi,

I'm looking for a way to secure my web browsing on my phone. Saw how easy it is to access my facebook account using FaceNiff. Is there an easy/free way to make sure that I'm sucured against such attacks?

Well, https would secure my browser. But what about other apps that access the internet. Say, gmail?

FaceNiff only works if you are both on the same network. Don't use other peoples networks, and you can avoid the issue...

Hmmm. That's one way. But not really a feasible proposition since I'm in college and have to use a shared network.

Any other way?
