I just got my S5 last week and I keep getting notifications that the security policy needs updated or was updated; is there a way to disable this? If I don't, could I possible lose a chance to root? I don't want any exploits to be patched OTA

Are you talking for VZW protect or OTA updates from VZW?

dont update the security when it pops up.. you probably wont notice a difference but might effect rooting.. then again i read a few ppl were able to set it back to its original settings by factory resetting it

I'm getting this same thing on my Developer Edition. A notification asking if I would like to automatically allow security updates. I've cleared it each time.

II have a rooted dev S5 and took the security policy update. no changes in root status. My google 2 factor authentication broke around the same time and was a but stubborn to re-establish, but that might be completely unrelated.

Everyone with repeating updates try this...

Settings, Security, scroll down to Security policy updates in menu and click, once inside that option, untick Automatic updates

Mine is unticked, but I get the accept decline message randomly. Did you click accept at some point then uncheck it? I've already frozen SDM

Yes I did. Its my understanding that sdm is for ota and security updates is a separate issue from that though. There's also a Verizon Protection app that I had to turn off.

Did disabling all Knox related items trigger knox? Thanks
Freezing Knox Notification Manage 2.0, and KNOX 1.0 did nothing but disable knox.
Freezing Knox KLMS Agent tripped my Custom tag. stated my system was custom not official.

But knox itself was never tripped.
