I just got my S5 last week and I keep getting notifications that the security policy needs updated or was updated; is there a way to disable this? If I don't, could I possible lose a chance to root? I don't want any exploits to be patched OTA
Are you talking for VZW protect or OTA updates from VZW?I just got my S5 last week and I keep getting notifications that the security policy needs updated or was updated; is there a way to disable this? If I don't, could I possible lose a chance to root? I don't want any exploits to be patched OTA
I don't use Verizon Protect so I guess OTA?Are you talking for VZW protect or OTA updates from VZW?
Ah. Well, I accidentally took the updates, don't notice much difference, but I am told that it could be detrimental to Rooting if you do take the VZW OTA update.I don't use Verizon Protect so I guess OTA?
dont update the security when it pops up.. you probably wont notice a difference but might effect rooting.. then again i read a few ppl were able to set it back to its original settings by factory resetting itI just got my S5 last week and I keep getting notifications that the security policy needs updated or was updated; is there a way to disable this? Mine is unticked, but I get the accept decline message randomly. Did you click accept at some point then uncheck it? I've already frozen SDMSettings, Security, scroll down to Security policy updates in menu and click, once inside that option, untick Automatic updates
Will do, also noted that running SuperUser when it disables knox it stopped.if you have Titanium Backup Pro, just freeze "Security policy updates SPD_v2_1402_4_1"
it reports that knox is disabled, but i didnt trust it, so i froze everything that said knox in Titanium. lol. Will do, also noted that running SuperUser when it disables knox it stopped.
Yes I did. Its my understanding that sdm is for ota and security updates is a separate issue from that though. There's also a Verizon Protection app that I had to turn off.Mine is unticked, but I get the accept decline message randomly. Did you click accept at some point then uncheck it? I've already frozen SDM
