Haha sometimes it not only about the magnetic car mount. Expanding out, there may be some flip cases that has the magnet inside too.

I've tried a magnetic mount and it does something even stranger, it acts like i'm pulling the s-pen out (opens the screen on note) when i put the Note 8 on the mount. But i'm not touching the pen.

Yeah, I ended up putting the metal disc (which is only even necessary due to my dbrand skin) on the bottom of my phone so I can use a mag mount and still have wireless charging. Sans skin, my note 5 didnt need a disc and my 8 probably wouldn't either.

I didn't need to use the disc for my s7e, s8+ or note8 ?

It should if you have the back naked. If you put a skin on the back, it doesn't leave enough friction for the mounts to keep your phone from moving around during bumps (with a dragon skin anyway).

It does for me, I have one of those super thin peel like case, and I have it positioned that it kinda rests on top of a knob so it doesn't slip down at bumps as a precaution
