Hit the nail on the head again. OP is frankly just whining because it's not as easy to root or develop for this device as they expected (not that they seem to be doing any development work themselves, of course). Rooting and flashing, sanctioned or not is never without risk, even on a Nexus device (which the OUYA most certainly is not). Clearly they're forgetting how annoying it is to root devices with OEM-locked bootloaders or flash-protection (S-ON).
Personally, I find the challenge of getting it rooted, unlocked and seeing what I can make it do to be half the fun of owning any Android device. If you want it all given to you on a platter and to know what it's really like to be "locked into a software eco-system", go buy an Apple device.
For me, and probably a number of other true Android fans or gadget fans in general on this forum, there's nothing quite like that feeling of crapping yourself when you think you're bricked something, followed by the uplift when it finally gets past the boot logo!

And OP, I'm no tough guy, but I do know a dip**** when I see one. Look back at your posts and try and tell me I'm wrong, honestly, when I liken you to the stuck-up kid in the playground that ruins the game because someone isn't playing it how he thinks they should. Android is a developer eco-system. If something's not right, either wait patiently for someone to fix it, muck in, or get out.

And you sir are just another sheep among the many.
Calling everyone else "sheep" is one of the fastest ways you sink your ship in terms of credibility, and an even faster way to make yourself look like a self-obsessed delusional. You posted on a forum of enthusiasts and people who know what they're doing, and you've gotten a pretty unambiguous answer from the looks of this thread.

Direct work with OUYA will continue, and whether or not the team is responsive or not, development work will continue suit as well. Sorry that it's not fast or easy enough for you, but a frivolous and half-baked lawsuit isn't going to make one whit of difference other than to further disincentive recovery development. I hate to break it to you about your lawyer-friend, but the last time I talked with a judge (federal appellate level at that), he sardonically noted that most lawyers he saw couldn't practice their way out of a paper bag.

Have a good day to all.
hey, moron, this is xda-developers, a place where people who like to tinker with their devices come to chip in to the great android experience in any way they can. it is NOT a forum for litigiously-minded prickshakers to come and gather troops. go pursue your lawsuit with your nimrod friend--i would love for him to lose all credibility for teaming up with a halfwit like you.

hey, i don't know the first thing about android dev--i just like flashing roms and recoveries. knowing this, i keep to myself when development is slow or non-existent for a product. if i REALLY wanted to be productive, i wouldn't ***** about it on forums, i'd learn how to compile a kernel, or write java, or.. whatever. point is, you're a ****ing asshat clown.

good riddance

Instead of getting your knickers in a twist, ignore the OP.
And FYI, it's against XDA rules to insult another member regardless of there views or actions.

This thread needs shutting down before you all congregate with torches and pick forks... oh wait, that's already happened.

Personally I think it needs to stay open as a reminder that it's because of small-minded people like the OP that we can't have anything nice, and also as a testament to how strongly people are getting behind OUYA despite a few glaring issues. Just my opinion.

It is a shame that he took his posts down though..it was a good testament to how a situation like this shouldn't be handled. Now of course everyone is entitled to their opinions, unfortunately this was more of miss guided feelings fueling an obnoxiously large ego.

And the OP is just voicing his. We're all entitled to them.

Can I understand his point of view? Yes.
Do I agree with a lawsuit? No.

The great thing about android is that we are able to use devices how we want to use them, instead of being dictated how we should use them, cough: Apple: cough. It's called individuality, and with that comes differing opinions.

I'd be interested to know, if you seen the OP on the street preaching about the evil Ouya corporation, how many would stop, argue and call him an idiot, or just laugh and walk past... and call him an idiot.

I'd suggest to keep walking.
