... In Canada the oneplus 5 is going to be 680 dollars delivered. The S8 can be found for 700. ...
Please provide a link for a new S8 at ~$700 with Samsung warranty. I sure can't find one less than ~$980. From my on-line shopping the OP5 price in Canada outstrips the feature/design loss over the S8. It really depends on which features you value most but I found the price difference to be a lot more significant than your suggesting.

I get all my phones off private sellers on kijiji. Most of them will sign contracts and sell off their new phones for much lower prices than retail .

I live in Edmonton. This one sells for 760. Still much lower than retail.

What are you talking about dude? Galaxy S8 is $1035 CAD without tax, and with tax its $1169.55 (HST 13%). Pixel XL is $949.00 (sale price right now; regular $1049.00) CAD without tax, and with tax its $1072.37.

Lol, where did you get S8 to be $700 and Pixel XL $600 CAD? Tell me please. And I am asking outright price :). Please post correct information.

Also, S8 can't be rooted. So much useless bloatware. Especially bixby button.

OP5 is better, op. If you can get the money back you spent on S8 or if its a bit low, then go for it.

Disabled, not deleted. Plus there is that Bixby button and its services. If you do disable it, it cases issues , i've experiened it before I returned S8+. You can't root Canadian S8 and S8+.

I have both a S8+ and OnePlus 3T, and I would say keep your S8+, don't think OP5 will be worth it. I mean the only thing you're getting is better software pretty much, otherwise you sacrifice in quite a few aspects of hardware (non bezeless and lower res display, no water resistance, camera doesn't seem to be as good, smaller battery, etc).

Yeah, if you get a pink hue or red on S8, you're screwed or other problems.
I bought four S8 and three S8+ from different telus and samsung Canada and online stores. All had pink and red screen problem, and it was bad. Plus, its over priced for what it offers. 50% or more of its features are useless. I won't use edge. I won't use bixby nor its button. I won't use any of samsung apps lol. Most of it is gimmicks.

However, regardless of features, per price, OnePlus 5 is better. Camera is better. Software is better. Rooting. Everything is else better for less than S8.

Samsung will honor the warranty even if you're not the original owner of the phone. So I wouldn't worry about the pink hue. As far as software, it's speed vs features. Everyone has different needs.

I'm also torn between the S8+ and OP5.

I have an S8+ snapdragon on order for $559 after tax, but am not sure if I want that, or OP5.

My last 2 phones were Nexus 5, and now Nexus 6.
I've enjoyed rooting and tinkering with every phone I have had, and that's my big gripe about getting the S8+. I'm also not a fan of the curved edge display.

I love my 6“ Nexus 6 screen, and am terribly disappointed that OP5 is only 5.5". I just don't know if I can accept going to a smaller screen, and this is why I'm leaning towards the S8+.

I am also considering the Mate 9, as it seems to be more what I want. My problems with it are that $600 seems quite expensive, the Kirin cpu isn't as fast as the SD835, and battery life isn't that great.

I'm so lost as to which phone to choose!

Go with the oneplus 5, you are not going to like the software on the s8 specially if you like quick updates and tinkering. I have the s8 plus and I can tell you that it stutters here and there. Not a deal breaker, but overall I would say its pretty boring compared to the 5

Should I sell My S8+ for the 8GB Ram Version of The Oneplus 5.... Pros and Cons?
I sold my s8 plus to buy the oneplus 5.
Don't let the screen size put u off. Yes the s8 plus has a bigger screen but that's only in long ways and only good for video content mainly which is cropped . So for me a 5.5 with captive buttons is a better option (I would prefer 5.7") .
The s8 is a good phone without a doubt.
The only issue I have that give me a negative thought buying the oneplus 5 over the s8 is the water proofing I'm very surprised oneplus hasn't kept up to date with other flagship manufacturers in this department especially with its price increase.
However I am looking forward to receiving my oneplus 5 Friday

I can agree between S8+ and 3T, sure S8+ is better but s8+ is not better compared to OP 5.

S8+ is too big to handle for one hand , S8's back side is fingerprint magnet & boring, look very similar to mid or budget range Samsung phones like A3 or A5, also finger print reader's location is worst I have ever seen and face or IRIS scanner does not work properly in dark or direct light coming from behind, with S8's camera one can always touch the back camera when try to unlock using fingerprint reader, S8 is Single SIM and camera is exactly same as last year's S7, mandatory curved screen on S8, back side is glass which is most fragile to break even if it drop from 3 feet height (tested and performed on youtubers ), also £168 extra for S8 model is too much compared to 128GB OP 5's £499 . also great developer community support and you never void warranty even if you root or unlock bootloader on OP5, I compared the photo using gsmarena's and also from various other website and I can't find any bad thing or poor quality on OP5's pics, but mate this is just my personal opinion :)
